to try and maintain our current sanity levels, some members of our local geek slack all pitched in on a variety banana box the first summer of lockdown, distributed semi-randomly through no-contact banana deliveries
yeah we really upped our costco shopping, to the point that the spendier membership starts paying for itself without us having to buy like, two new sets of tires or a gi-huge-ic electric snow thrower
you want your own personal cheese, or your own Mauritius cheese?
my partner got a diagnosis well into adulthood, and now they're wondering just how different their father's life would have been if he could have been diagnosed at all, let alone early

this of course also included things like people taking one hour shifts that crossed a DST boundary. They later asked us to implement recurring shifts out into the future. if my hair wasn't already gone, it would have fallen out
I once worked on scheduling software where we were asked to show the user their hours & elapsed wall clock time, in their timezone, including past records... and we'd stored everything in UTC, only. no TZ info. Workers sometimes traveled between shifts, or moved to other locations... disaster time
