Unwise or not, I've been happy and alive for 11 years, which I'm told is better than sad and not alive. There were no justifications for self-preservation if I hadn't transitioned as soon as I could. Life & society is a lot of work; changing my body is a prerequisite to putting up with all of that.

If there's a non-medical way to physically transition I'm all ears, but yea, medical transition was the only way I was gonna justify putting up with all of the other nonsense on this flying rock. I understand caution, but usually its like 6-12mo of gender therapy + a Psy and Dr. signature for HRT.

As a trans kid, who couldn't come out and transition until they were 22 for safety reasons, I got the impression nobody wanted me to self-medicate or carve myself up, so doing it with a medical professional seems like the better option?
