It's bloody tough on the runner up, and a tarnished victory for the winner, through no fault of his own (assume he didn't see what happened).

Apparently this happened earlier in the race. Feel bad for both the runners.

Oh no, that's unfair on both of them.
That's the one - it's as bad as I remember. It set the tone for what a non-religious TFTD might sound like, it wasn't good, so never went further. It didn't need to be that way. A wasted opportunity to simply have a TFTD that doesn't mention god, which I think is all anyone was asking for. A shame.
I think Dawkins ruined that one. I recall he gave an "atheist" TFTD, but he used it as an opportunity to be "anti-religious". There's scope for non-religious TFTD. Doesn't need to be anti-religion, or "pro-atheist". It can simply not mention god, which doesn't appear to be possible as things stand.
I think it was the "wading into filthy water" part that was the problem.
Not seen one of these out in the wild yet today. However, I'm counting down the minutes until a FB friend makes her annual post of a sexist joke.
Welcome to the Garyneum, the 13 day period between the birthdays of Gary Numan and Gary Oldman.
Haha. Yes!
Yup. Frogs in boiling water comes to mind.
A distress signal maybe...!
I do recall that an original feature of student loans was that the interest rate was to match inflation (i.e. be effectively zero). It was never supposed to be a disincentive to going to uni.
Haha. I wasn't into Mike at all. Until Priscilla. I remember when we came out of the cinema one of my mates saying "Mike from Neighbours is gorgeous in a dress!" ๐
Same same around 1986-1992.
Me and my friendgroup at the time were *obsessed*
Haha!
(I have both that single *and* Angry Anderson's "Suddenly". Oh, *and* the wedding episode recorded off the telly on VHS ๐)
For a microsecond I thought that was Scott and Charlene. (Photo for the benefit of anyone that doesn't know wtf I'm talking about.)
Same. My 16yo has about three of them (they have different types now), because *now* they tell you what to do to get one. It was a very black art back in the 80s.
Genuinely thought you were referring to the pub chain first time of reading.
So carefree! (Or at least that's the vibe.)
Wow, that's a great photo!
Same photo booth? ๐
I've seen this expressed before. I'm on the other side. I quite often don't really understand the question, so find it easier to say "Maybe Later" to get rid of the pop-up than risk making a huge mistake. I wouldn't have anything against them adding "Hard No" as a third option though.
You in another decade.
1991
But also, a human never would have translated it that way.
I don't doubt that.
Yep. I am very very anti-capital punishment, but I can also very easily not find it within myself to care what happens to monsters like him.
Good.

OK, because I really don't know, could someone tell me if that is *genuine* footage of Tate? Cos it looks a bit AI. (Really hoping it's genuine.)
