PATHS2INCLUDE findings inform EU Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities - paths2include
On the 30th of May, PATHS2INCLUDE held a Policy Forum at the University of Hannover gathering researchers, experts on employment policies and civil society representatives.
📣PATHS2INCLUDE has contributed to the European Commission’s consultation on the Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities 2021-2030
➡️ by contributing research, we aim to inform policy and support more inclusive labour markets for persons with disabilities.

Although the gender employment gap has halved over the past 20 years in the Euro area, it still stood at 8.83% in 2024.
➡️We measured the cost of inaction rather than moving towards more inclusive, gender-balanced labour markets.

Using data from the EU-LFS and a shift-share IV method, they found that:
🔹 as WFH increased, so did the likelihood of mothers being employed full-time, which led to a 25% decrease of the employment gap between women with- and without children in the EU since the start of the pandemic.

Hiring discrimination across national contexts - paths2include
Gender norms and parents’ employment characteristics in Europe
The #EUTalentPool will make it easier to recruit third-country nationals for work in the EU. A candidate base is not enough 👉 companies need the right frameworks to truly hire inclusively.
#PATHS2INCLUDE studied employers' measures to hire and integrate migrants into their companies.
