I mask because my dad died of COVID (pre-vaccine) and it would be very upsetting to get COVID and especially to give it to someone I love.

Someone tasked me with something "ASAP" then ghosted me for a week while I awaited input from them. My brain was just... welp, I guess I'm waiting. Can't focus on anything else. Must do most recent, highest priority task first.
It's been 3 months since my mom told me she wasn't going to "bother me" again. So, I blocked her. I still feel ok about this.
There's only so many times you can push your kid away and expect them to come running back.

So, friends online & in person have been hitting burnout/overwhelm, & I get there too. I strongly strongly recommend trying out an aggregator/summarizer or two until you find one that helps you feel informed but not overwhelmed. Doom scrolling is literally self harm, so here's some that help me:

Like, I'm white AF, so I'm probably fine for now (most recent non-American ancestors were my possibly-stateless great grandparents). And I don't know the immigration status of anyone else. But facts don't make things less stressful.
The college I work at is officially Very Hispanic (a "Hispanic Serving Institution") and so all this ICE stuff has me professionally stressed.

I'm grateful for my extra padding, which came in handy today when someone turned off the friction and I landed flat on my back in an icy parking lot. I'm just sore and bruised on my arm and bum.

I've lost 7% of my body weight since March 2024. Dr saw I have insulin resistance, I got diagnosed with #PCOS, and I'm now on meds, taken twice a day with food. No other change.
Turns out poor diet and lack of exercise weren't the root cause of my prior weight gain. I'm a tad salty. #weightloss
Long story short, front door in the wrong shade of brown was installed due to a miscommunication and it's being a hassle to get fixed. And I'm not a licensed contractor, so I can't just paint it myself.
