If only Hungary had not positioned itself as an enemy to Ukraine, blocking aide and blocking arms and stealing itβs money.
If only Hungary had not positioned itself as an enemy to Ukraine, blocking aide and blocking arms and stealing itβs money.
This is very good.
At the heart of all of this is an ideological confusion; the govt doesn't really know what it exists (aside from being for a fairly nebulous concept of 'working people') and what values it has.
As such, it struggles to pick enemies or make friends.
You know, when you think about it, its like the USA today is being run by a fraudulent businessman who bankrupted every business he ever ran except those bankrolled by the Russians or after he used political power for personal financial gain.
Exactly like that.

Cost of 10 days of the US/Israel-Iran war to the European public due to rise in fossil fuels according to @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu: 3bn Euro.
Not Europe's war, but certainly also Europe's problem.
π¨π¨ Europeβs plan to keep Ukraine afloat β even if #Hungary keeps blocking β¬90B loan. Kyiv was expected to run out of money at the end of this month, but an #IMF lifeline and help from the #Nordics and #Baltics are set to keep it solvent.π§΅

Of course, the Reform UK MSP struggled to defend Brexit.
Brexit left us poorer, more isolated, and less safe.
Nigel Farage needs to be held accountable for the damage he inflicted.

Trump attacked Iran after markets closed on Friday because he thought it would be over by Monday.
12 days on, the world faces a shortage of oil, fertiliser & food, 200 children are dead, a capital city is poisoned & global capital flows are at risk.
He started it but canβt end it.
Cataclysmic.
Politicians need to start explaining this to voters otherwise they will get the blame for the rising cost of living. This is America and Trumpβs doing.
Badenoch and Farage are in a mess over Iran because there was an opportunity to 'own the libs' and they took it unthinkingly.
It's all about owning the libs.

You can have the best armed forces in the history of the world, but if you are an incompetent criminal without a plan, you can still lose a war, and rather quickly.
Whining about polls, just like his hero Trump
Read this and then remember that Farage has said the NHS has to be abolished and replaced with private insurance.
Trevor Phillips is on Times Radio at the moment presenting its lunchtime show and talking about the imminent release of the Mandelson files. Heβs not mentioned that Peter Mandelson has been his friend for many years and was best man at his first wedding.

JFC. Iran has also announced that western tech companies (and their data centres!) are also now targets.
Iran has worked out exactly how to cripple the western world of oil, food, fertiliser, finance and data.
Trump has unleashed carnage - and he CANNOT put it back in its box.

Trump playbook: undermine the opinion polls if they don't favour you.
Putting everything else aside... they are not strong in all polls.
Their polling average has dropped by 3% in the last few months - and is presently 2% lower than Brown managed in 2010.
It's pretty pathetic given the wider situation

Seven in 10 Britons are sceptical about UK involvement in Iran, but their newspapers have other ideas. Some of us recall the last time Fleet Street was so disastrously in favour of war, writes former Observer home affairs editor @martinbright.bsky.social

Right wing media: why canβt the BBC now afford to show the thing I like?
At the most basic level of 'have some self-respect', Conservative MPs should not put forward someone who visibly is not intellectually equipped to be prime minister as their candidate to be prime minister.
"While Nige has been brown-nosing Trump with his warmongering, he has missed that most of the country doesnβt want to follow the orange narcissist into an illegal war with no fixed objectives other than continue till The Donald gets bored"
I know it won't make any difference to his voters, who pay no attention to what's actually going on, and think foresight is for pussies and consequences can be wished away.
But if Farage was PM, we'd now be in a moronic, illegal war he demanded we join 2 days ago, and now thinks is a disaster.
Nigel Farage continues to deny the Local Election council tax pledge. Hereβs the main Reform UK Twitter account stating itβ¦
At this point, it seems that the safest assumption is that the Trump administration simply doesn't care if the Russians are sharing information on US military assets with Iran. Putin can do what he likes, however damaging to the US, with no fear of a US response.π§΅
π¨π¨Major story of today: Nearly seven months ago, #Ukraine tried to sell the US their battle-proven technology for downing Iranian-made attack drones but #Trump admin dismissed the Ukrainians, only to reverse course last week because of heavy drone strikes from #Iran.π§΅

Holy cow, Ukraine offered to help the US prepare to counter Iranian drones, but the Trump regime turned them down, too focused on pushing the narrative that Ukraine βhas no cardsβ and should surrender to Russia.
But now the US is back, asking for help after attacking Iran and getting fire back.
