(It’s a barred owl!)
Who flew over my head then posed for pictures tonight? Whooo?
I’ll have that next batch on its way home to you asap!
Oooh, thank you!
Ok I had a birthday, and my kid brought me this! It’s from Japan, and to me it looks so much like medieval pottery or funny manuscript marginalia creatures. I love it!
That’s interesting! It’s a 3 and just looks like a Chinese-themed playing card, so I didn’t give it much thought. Cool to learn something new!
I guess they must be? I picked it up off the sidewalk in Ballard (a Seattle neighborhood). Thank you, now I can look it up!
Ughhhhh—I am a professional writer yes I am. “I have added a tail (to the coin) because he (the owl) thinks it’s (the coin is) a mouse.”
(It was really bugging me and I don’t think I can edit the post. So…)
? He has a “v” of feather markings down the front but you can of course take it as you like! Heh.
Hmm, I know it when I see it, but I guess it’s kind of “random crap the little guys in Labyrinth would pick up off the ground and stuff in their pockets?”
Thank you! That’s pretty much how it all landed over the months, but I like it too!
One of my Christmas oranges was going off, so I made an owl friend for my pig. I added a tail because he thinks it’s a mouse.
A bowl of acorns, pine cones, and assorted things found on walks
Here’s my random bowl of goblin treasure I picked up in 2025: mostly on my walks. The bowl too: it was in a little free library!
Here is my New Year’s lemon pig!
Sometimes my kid sends me photos:
Happy New Year everyone! Here’s one last festive post from me: the bubble lights on my Mom’s mantle. We had them on the tree every year at my great grandpa’s Christmas Eve celebration in Seattle.
I’ve still got lots of work to do, but I had to take a minute to make this guy festive.
It is. A long time ago we needed tiny plates and those had a funny fish on them. So that’s what Phil picked out.
Yes!
Why, thank you!
It was so delicious!
Quick! Look at this gorgeous homemade jelly doughnut my kid brought home from a party—before I eat it. Thank you, Victor’s nice friends!
Here’s Chibiteratsu, hanging out on the tree like a good little solar deity, waiting for the upcoming Okami sequel.
A Christmas tree surrounded by candles
We finally set up the Christmas tree!
We do! We’re only missing Daft Wullie.
AAAAAAA! I want to make one!
Here’s part of my pop-up / papercraft book collection. Someday I’ll have time to design my own.
Percy Cat is mad because someone’s in his chair.
