This is appropriate. The reason those are licensed professions is that we recognize the danger of letting an untrained human dispense legal or medical advice.
That danger does not disappear when the advice is dispensed by an LLM. In fact, the danger multiplies
I’m utterly uninterested in “debates” about whether AI can do things well. I wouldn’t care if it could. 1. It stole from me. 2. I prefer me having my job to a computer having it. 3. I don’t teach “with” Lockheed or Raytheon; why wld I teach with Anthropic or OpenAI?

And I’d say even in the academic context this term is pretty rare and certainly not the norm. Some people use it and it doesn’t really impact anyone, so I just don’t see the outrage of a few people using some term you don’t prefer. Who is being harmed here?

It is very hard not to have a safe choice to use the bathroom in public.
It may be impossible to continue living, working, eating, etc without a valid driver's license if your life was built around driving and the assumption that your license wouldn't be invalidated overnight by the legislature.
It seems all Kansas-issued trans drivers' licenses are invalid, effective tomorrow
It is now illegal for trans people to drive a car until they surrender their license at a DMV (that most will need to drive to) and have it reissued with the wrong gender marker

Today I had a meeting about funding I received for a November 2025 (!) presentation. Part of the agreement requires me to present the talk at a university-wide event in March 2026. I was told today I could either censor/change my talk’s title and receive the funding, or withdraw.
I withdrew.

There should be blanket media coverage & bipartisan demands for Trump's resignation.
