but some fun news: i got offered a lead teacher position at the preschool i’ve been working at and i think im gonna take it 😁

i haven’t shared art in weeks im sorry aaaa but ive been working on a coloring book and also working 5 days a week so i promise im still making art im just focusing on one long project right now 😦

support & promoting each others art / shops / etc 🩷

TLDR (I’m so sorry) share your art that you plan on selling even if just posting it as normal, make posts about what you’ll include in shop updates, give previews, and if you continue to also just post ur art in general that helps build that audience/promo! & making art friends is always good 4 +

a lot of apps like twt & ig like accs that post as often as possible but if you stick to mostly art like once a week that’s usually pretty helpful and then it doesn’t burn you out 🥹

the staying on topic part goes more for places like ig & twt im not 100% sure abt here bc its so new but i imagine sharing ur work and interacting with others/including tags is always a good thing 🙂‍↕️

ok coming back: making friends is always great to help w/ promo bc like I said u can promote each other’s work & support each other! trying to stick to posting ur work as often as possible is always helpful too (like more art than random shitposts kinda like a staying on topic kinda thing)

oh also do ur research on what selling platform would work best for u if/when u wanna open a shop! there’s multiple options so it’s good to look over all ur choices before just picking one bc you’ve heard of it before :] I hope this helped a little 🥹

remember patience goes a long way, keep posting art that’s true to you and building ur audience from that 🫶🏻 but again commissions are a great place to start imo! if u ever need suggestions of where to buy merchandise tho (like keychains, stickers, etc) lmk im always happy to share what i use!

making friends w ppl who also post art & run shops is always nice too bc it’s a nice support system to have! you can help each other in lots of ways like sharing tips, just supporting each other’s art, widening each others audiences!

it’s a slow process tbh but imo the best thing to start with is basically just building ur audience by posting ur art :] commissions are usually a great place to start too (i did commissions for a while before ever opening a shop!)
