And then topped it off by revealing that he himself is the descendant of immigrants π.
I really wish to one day be this IMMUNE to irony!
Sorry @rdvquantum.bsky.social for taking over your postπ

So in summary, he complained of immigrants, ecological initiatives, all global institutions.
Accused all countries of exploiting the US & Europe.
Then went on to describe how they "settled continents", colonized the world and committed mass genocides left and right.
This one is really funny
This is what self-help books mean when they say "Compete with yourself"
I wonder what was the main roadblock. There must have been a big obstacle that somehow vetoed all solutions to the war in Gaza, if only one could figure out what was it π€
Please inform her that the deadline to submit her slides is next week
Every week you get a new chance to finish your paper by the end of the week.
Don't you wake up tired from such dreams? Last dream I had to work through I woke up to lie In bed just to get some actual restπ
You just know this Monday's episode of the daily show is gonna be lit
Trying out a new group meeting format where first everyone updates each other on government crackdown of protests in their home country.
My recommendation: read the paper, an excellent work marking IMHO another milestone for quantum chemistry, congratulations to all authors.
To add to the cited post, the most important conclusions of the work are highlighted in the picture, a breakdown will be provided in the comments.
What a view!
Since the first year of my academic journey is ending, I think a recap is called for, so here it is :

Thank you @christopher-k-long.bsky.social, credit also goes to the great team at cqtech.org.
I hope you enjoy the papers once you're back to work, in the meantime, Happy Holidays!
This year I got my first publication, first conference, and 16 citations so far.
Met a lot of people and learned a lot of things.
A start to my academic journey that I never imagined. Thank you to everyone π, to many more success in the future, hopefully as a PhD!
THE END
13/13
December: participated in my first conference, NCTPA, presented work done in my thesis and recent developments with the new project.
Published my second paper in the field: iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1...
12/13
October: started on a new project building on the work done in my thesis, really excited for it.
Obtained my certificate to instruct QBronze events.
November: nothing much.
September: back to business and my third pre-print came out: arxiv.org/abs/2509.18029
Started the process of looking for a PhD position (still yet to find one) it is exhausting and very frustrating but I keep my head upπ
.
Put my thesis on arxiv too:https://arxiv.org/abs/2509.21555
10/n
August: went on a vacation with my friends to Oran, and went to karting (big fan of Formula 1)
It was an amazing break from academia.
Second pre-print out on arxiv: arxiv.org/abs/2508.15072
Pic: the shirt I bought in Ghana, colors express my happiness π

July: went to Ghana representing qBraid, met some amazing people on that trip (I won't name names in fear of forgetting someone)
It was my first official academic conference-style event, what a way to start the journey

Defended the thesis on the 22nd of June, graduated with honors, it was the greatest day of my life. The jurors were amazed with the Thesis and I never felt better.
Published my first paper (after tedious reviews)
Link: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
May: finally started writing the thesis (under pressure from @thefinalcountdown.bsky.social ) and designing the experiments I wanted to run for my thesis.
June: ran the experiments June 1st, wrapped Up the thesis 5 days later, and submitted it after proof reading on the 12th
6/n
April: started reviewing Barren plateaus literature while investigating the sampling bottleneck in parallel, went through a lot of cryptic mathematics (courtesy of @mvscerezo.bsky.social & @qzoeholmes.bsky.social π ). I enjoyed every bit of it!
March: finally started the thesis work, understanding sampling based algorithms, went through a lot of quantum chemistry to decrypt how PyScf worksπ
.
That involved a lot of very long coffee-infused nights (Ramadan)
February: organized the QNexus event in Algiers through QAlgeria and CQTech. The event was an amazing success with more than 200 students attending across 3 universities.
I delivered my first workshop on variational quantum algorithms.
Had an amazing time with the CQTech team.

Started the year as a final year Master student, finishing my last set of exams in January.
Had my first pre-print come out in December 2024 (I'm counting it in this year, don't tell on me π€«)
Link: arxiv.org/abs/2412.02606
It was the fruit of a very long hardwork.
Since the first year of my academic journey is ending, I think a recap is called for, so here it is :

Going karting while on a trip with my friends to Oran. Had to think really hard, other than this everything else was for workπ .
