fml the dark brown on her left arm (the front arm) is supposed to come down a bit more and be wavy. but the way i color her is i block in each fur color on a layer 1 at a time then do the "wavy transitions" on top afterwards and forgot that one

ill just leave it today and fix it for future reposts

referenced this anatomy sketch i found on pinterest as a starting point, presumably the artist handle is "@速写超人寸寸" but theres a smaller watermark in the corner that i just cannot make out so im not sure!!!

i usually use clothing to compensate for the fact i dont do anatomy that well, but long clothes that are /mostly/ the right proportions usually look ok enough.

Someplace Familiar

at the time i was just setting and moving goalposts to whatever i fixated on as like what it "had to be" to be "an objectively correct piece of art".
Now i feel like im a lot more free, having fun, and putting my feelings and emotions into each thing rather than like. chasing some weird perfection.

the second one reflects when my mental state regarding art wasn't healthy. like i was stuck in this concept of chasing "perfection" and every detail had to be /perfect/ down to making sure the side of the flannel had 3d depth and i drew every stitch and the pattern is accurate

so this is actually the third iteration of this one diner scene Ive drawn every few years, even though this one is very different than the other 2 (Hence it being "Someplace Familiar")

It's turned into a little footprint of my art style and mental state at the time of each one being drawn

yes she is smoking the filter it looks better this way trust

i saw somebody else posted one of my drawings there once so i thought "oh neat i kinda fit the vibe of this place and its gotta be WAY better than /r/furry, i should post some more of my stuff myself" but no it is the exact same

remembered i have a plugin for generating perspective grids from points, pondering if i do a third iteration of this one diner i draw sometimes, itll be like my little fun benchmark of how i draw and render and whatever

if u think about it, "puppy" is a class. like yes dogs can be puppy but u can also be a puppydoe or puppycat.

the primal urge to draw the lil guy like i did with the 🐝🦌combination 10000 years ago..

I feel so maternal towards the ☠️🦌emoji combination.....

i think the headshot might be the last time i drew antlers on ilex.. every time i drew them they got stubbier and thinner and smaller until i guess they popped out of existence
