‘Remigration’ is a term that comes out of the European far right. Its use by the DHS account is a sign of democratic and epistemic collapse

I wrote on the UK's reported suspension of some intel sharing with the US on legal grounds. I spoke to several former intel officials & all agreed that they could not think of a comparable case over decades. Some expressed serious concern over retaliation www.economist.com/britain/2025...

Trump beats the drums of war for direct action in Venezuela The Trump administration has surged warships, fighter jets and troops to the Caribbean for drug interdiction. Many see the ultimate goal as toppling Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

“At the end of the day if you have authority to take out cartel runners” at sea, “you can take out the cartel boss [Maduro],” the person said.

Of course, no such authority exists for any of these operations— at sea or on land.

It is all illegal.

I'm looking forward to joining some of my friends in #SriLanka for this conversation this coming Wednesday. From "dramatic victory" to "most votes but no clear majority", the NPP and AKD governments have difficult choices ahead - but still room to make real progress on their key priorities.
