Screenshot of a bluesky post by @kevinbaker reads "One of the more interesting things about this is how little they tried to sell it." Posted at 8:40pm on February 28, 2026.
This has been on my mind. I wrote a whole book on the packaging and selling of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and this is definitely not that. Though I'll say that the excessive fragmentation of the audience in 2026 would likely make a production of that magnitude ineffective.
At the very bottom of the list of everything that's important about her firing is the fact that I don't have to see her in her stupid fucking hats anymore.
My mom told me that if your tortilla inflates, your suegra (mother-in-law) knows all your secrets. 😬
Pale, uncooked side of a tortilla with multiple small bubbles and one large one.
Half-inflated, Cooked tortilla with golden brown spots. In the background is a pan of mashed beans with a wooden spoon sticking out of it.
Side view of a tortilla cooking. Tortilla is inflated, with the upper half showing golden brown spots and a pale lower half. In the background is an empty skillet.
Everything is awful, so this is a tortilla fan account now.

It’s a good read! Long story short: same temp and use your nose
A pale-white tortilla with two inflated halves and a browned circle at its center
The tortilla is wearing a bow tie.
Ah, that makes sense!

Slice of banana bread covered with peanut butter and ground piquin pepper
Banana bread with pecans and chocolate chunks, peanut butter, chile piquin
A chocolate brown loaf of banana bread sprinkled with oats and sitting on a tan cutting board.
Commemorating an unheard-of SECOND snow day.
An arm suspends a conical strainer full of chile pulp over a large clear measuring cup with reddish and chocolate brown liquid.
Snow is going to keep us from our taqueria, so we’re taking birria matters into our own hands.
This will no doubt lead to another associate dean of compliance. This is fucking embarrassing.

Our cold brew is steeping. Room temp brew is better than no brew.

Feeling inspired.
I just learned there is a thing called a snow flea, and the fact that it's not actually a flea isn't going to dissuade me from staying indoors forever.

Shit--so many deaths recently, I seriously read this as "FCC Chair Brendan Carr is dead at 47."
With the #Colbert and CBS/ #FCC news making the rounds, it’s a great time to announce our forthcoming special issue of Television and New Media on histories of content regulation. You can get a sneak peek with this open access article: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...
This is amazing. Below is my favorite. Applies even to those of us not saintly enough to be librarians. @albakeys.bsky.social
Maybe she’s one of those west Texas “My people are Castilian, not Mexican” gals.
I saw someone standing on the Charles yesterday! Thought it was debris, but nope, just some dude with a death wish.

After that halftime show I think I’m gonna start insisting people pronounce my last name correctly. Too many folks in New England have been getting a pass. Roll that “r”, people! Two “l”s = “y”!
