But the same people also say “don’t use AI to write your resume. Don’t use AI to write your business letters. Don’t use AI to decide what to make for dinner.”

Let’s talk about project 2025 while I draw Stephen Miller.

I wish we have more utopia stories. It’s far too easy to build dystopia because of the build-in social tensions and conflict.
If you have to force your actors to risk sexual abuse, mental, and physical trauma to “get a reaction “, you are not a good director.
If writing is our weapon against an unjust world, you are here teaching us how to fight better! If writing stories is our way of reaching the world, you help us reach more people. Although English is not my first language, I learned to write better from you.
"I don't like <insert things here>. I think they are lame." is not valid criticism.
And lastly, ... the name. I can't... Like, on one side you have Princess Irulan, Duke Leto Atreides, Feyd-Rautha, Chani, Glossu Rbban, full-blown fantasy names. Annnnnd, Paul, Jessica, Dunken Idaho, Margot, Beverly Hills 90210.
And if the space witches are so powerful with their magic that they have full control over their bodies, why would they only allow women to join? Why are they so obsessed with childbirth? 3/
Why did a technologically advanced civilization have a medieval feudal government, with succession passing down from father to son by bloodline? If the space witches are so powerful, WHY must they operate from behind the scenes as mistresses (not even wives) and concubines? 2/
I'm not a fan of Dune. I don't like the writing style, I don't like the misogyny: a group of powerful space witches conspired for thousands of years to... wait for it, have a MALE savior. I don't like the colonization apologist rhetoric or the "white men save, white men destroy" subtle racism. 1/
💖 found family. A group of miserable and broken people forced to work together to achieve a common goal and become better humans because of each other.
❌ the chosen one (especially in YA) omg the normal “homely” girl turned out to be the only one who can use this long lost magic… eh… no.
It's been a *day* already, so let's play a fun lil game! #writingcommunity, quote this & tell me:
💖 One trope you love
❌ One trope you hate
(With, of course, the understanding that this is all personal preference and not some absolute statement about the relative quality of these tropes.)
Go!
I have this posted on my front door. It is an instruction and script on what to do and say when ICE/law enforcement is knocking at your door. Know your rights.
Is Gulf of Mexico a DEI hire now?
I really really really.... really love drawing hands.
I see a lot of posts that are like, "OMG, I can't believe you eat that many eggs that it literally impacts your budget. I eat like 3 eggs every 4 years! I just let them expire in my fridge because I always dine out." Are millennials started to become the new boomers?
no notes.
"you might just have a masterpiece." Or hot garbage. Either way, it's better than nothing.
Oh great, tell me how it isn't the price of eggs being too high, it is because nobody needs to eat that many eggs. Let's always blame the people for having basic needs that somehow don't fit our limited worldview, never the policies that put us here. Capitalist pick-me is the worst.
I thought the modern plot was put there to explain why people from ancient Greece speak modern English.
Honestly, current affairs give me a lot of ideas. Like a minor deity whose job was guiding departed souls to the underworld was fired from his job when a bunch of asshole fratboy angels took over the afterlife and privatized the underworld system. At least in my story, the good guys win at the end.
Rules without consequences of breaking are not real rules.
Absolutely! Better yet, get those pasture-fed free-range eggs!
Thank you for saying it. I feel this applies to all creative endeavors. For years, I felt like a fraud calling myself an artist despite attending art school and painting/drawing all my life because I never made money with my art. The simple truth is that if you create art, you are an artist.
OMG Thank you so much!
I don't know, do you need more bleakness and darkness in your life right now? Is reality not enough?
I read somewhere that the reason horror stories often feature female ghosts more than male ghosts is that men can have revenge while they are alive, and women have to wait until they're dead, which is also why female ghosts are scarier because now they can do what men do.
The most disappointing and horrifying aspect of the past two weeks is how powerless we are. Rules without consequences are not rules; they aren't real. If there's no check or balance, a president is a dictator.
