Some of the antibodies potently neutralize HSV-2 and HSV-1, and provide protection in a neonatal mouse model of HSV-2 infection. Led by Parastoo, Jeongryeol, and Nisali, with additional contributions from other members of the Georgiev, McLellan, Ackerman, and Leib laboratories.
Cryo-EM structures of prefusion HSV-2 gB in complex with human antibodies.
Our fourth installment on prefusion herpesvirus gB proteins is available as a preprint: doi.org/10.64898/202.... Working with Ivelin Georgiev's group, we isolated and characterized prefusion-specific HSV gB antibodies from humans!
The published paper is now available online: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S...
Journals really need to enforce some set of minimal standards.
Thanks Elisa!
Our third installment on prefusion stabilization of herpesvirus gB proteins is available as a preprint: doi.org/10.64898/202.... A great collaboration with colleagues at Merck. Our prefusion HSV-2 gB protein adopts a more closed conformation than has been observed for HSV-1 gB in recent papers.
Seems to have an innate sensation to try and fly. Interesting.

New Year's Eve Red Wings game with the family!
Does playing so many games on turf instead of natural grass contribute to the injuries?
