Man, a few blocks of bus lanes between Market/Jones and Gough streets would solve a lot of the pain that Daniel Lurie's service cuts inflicted on the 5 last year

As we shared on Saturday, LAX is moving forward with a proposal to more than double the fees you pay for rideshare trips at the airportβ€”and the final vote is tomorrow, March 10. We invite you to join us in person at the board meeting tomorrow morning to voice your concerns before the vote.

If this proposal passes, the fee for a pickup or drop-off at the terminal curb will jump from $5 to $12 per trip, making LAX fees the most expensive in the world. This goes straight to the airportsβ€”not to drivers, and not to Uber.

This hike is being rushed through with little notice and without a meaningful public process.

We need your help to stop this. Please consider showing up in person at the board meeting tomorrow to share how this increase will affect you. Your presence can make a difference in keeping LA affordable for everyone.

When: Tuesday, March 10 at 10:00 AM

Where: Clifton A. Moore Administration Building
Samuel Greenberg Board Room 107/116
at Los Angeles International Airport

Can’t make it in person? You can still take action by emailing LAX officials directly through the link below before tomorrow’s meeting.

LAX Airport Fee Increase Proposal
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is considering a significant increase in rideshare access fees.

Currently, riders pay a $5 fee each way for LAX curbside pick-up/drop-off. LAX has proposed raising this fee significantly- to $12 for a pick up or drop off at the curb.

By comparison, other similarly sized airports around the country collect, on average, per-trip fees of just $4.25.

A steep increase would make airport rides less affordable for many passengers and could result in fewer trips for drivers.

The Airport board is planning to vote on this proposal on March 10, with no input from riders or drivers.

Help us advocate for affordable airport access.

Add to the message below to LA lawmakers and the LA Airport board and tell them how less affordable rides would impact you.

Uber, an LA28 partner, is trying to get users to show up to an LAX board meeting this morning to protest raising the fees you pay for getting dropped off in the horseshoe from $5 to $12.

This is a good and necessary change to reduce congestion in the horseshoe and fund LAX transit improvements

East Bay for Everyone Opposes Cal Chamber "BACA" CEQA Ballot Measure
Streamlining sprawl development is not "Pro-Housing!"

East Bay for Everyone Opposes Cal Chamber "BACA" CEQA Ballot Measure Streamlining sprawl development is not "Pro-Housing!"

Thanks to the important CEQA reform passed last year, the @calchamber.bsky.social BACA measure does nothing for the infill housing we need.

What it does do is streamline everything from sprawl detached housing to highways to data centers.

Is the auto load coming from a transit benefit card? Because those are all declined now. You'll need to use a regular card and file a claim if you can

β€˜You’re killing her!’: Witnesses recount horrific Mission Bay crash where 2-year-old died Bystanders tried to lift an SUV after its driver pinned a mother and child in Mission Bay, say witnesses.

Unpopular opinion but turning right at a red light should not be legal in San Francisco (or anywhere else). Right on red makes horrors like this all too possible. sfstandard.com/2026/03/03/m...

Yeah it's just a totally different project than the Geary line, which should go to at least 33rd and ideally the beach. Shame they're not considering that

28.02.2026 17:27 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

There are waaayyyy more transit riders (including riders with regional destinations) on Geary West of 19th than there are along 19th Ave

SFCTA finished their Geary / 19th Avenue subway study and found that a transbay (BART-like) line would nearly 2x ridership of a SF-only subway . Which makes sense because the appeal of this service would be getting East Bay residents to the big employers like UCSF Parnassus, SFSU and Van Ness.

Mayor Lurie turned the anti-Jewish rantings of a random street loon into a global indictment of San Francisco The mayor’s inaccurate statement allowed gullible rubes and bad-faith trolls to bash this city as a hotbed of organized, political antisemitism

Oof Mayor Lurie really dropped the ball yesterday. More from @esksf.bsky.social in @missionlocal.org

it's not the issue of this story, but it is a transparent example of how the "cars are freedom" narrative is a complete farce. when the state controls your movement and can immobilize you on a whim, you are not free. car dependency is an arm of fascism for the car *IS* fascism and must be abolished.

Proposed fees, discounts, and exemptions
The fee to drive into the zone would depend on the driver's income. Drivers would be charged to enter the zone. There would be no fee to leave the zone. People who qualify for multiple discounts would receive the highest discount for which they are eligible.
β€’ Middle and high-income drivers:
$6.50
β€’ Moderate-income drivers: $4.33 (33% discount)
β€’ Low-income drivers: $2.17 (66% discount)
β€’ Very low-income drivers: Free
β€’ Drivers with disabilities: $3.25 (50% discount)
β€’ A "trip cap" where people who drive into the zone during peak periods several times a day will be charged a maximum of two times.

Ride-hail vehicles
β€’ The updated proposal includes a $6.50 per-trip fee for ride-hail vehicles like Uber and Lyft. While
private vehicles would pay only to enter the zone, Uber and Lyft rides would be charged to enter the zone and for any ride that starts within the
zone.
β€’ The discounts outlined above would also apply to ride-hail vehicle passengers.
Additional options under consideration
(Each of these would require ~$1
increase to base fee
β€’ 50% zone resident discount for
people who live inside the zone
β€’ Bridge toll payer discount for people who crossed a bridge into the city
β€’ Expanded Muni discounts for people with low incomes

We'd better get started

25.02.2026 03:30 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

We can make do with 2 doors. Even just putting the rear door at the actual rear of the bus would help

25.02.2026 03:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This has to be part of it, but Muni does have a "stand clear of the doors" announcement that will often repeat forEVER

I like to pretend it says "stand clear of the dorks" and is talking about the lamos who won't move in

25.02.2026 03:03 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I'm cool with that

And then yeah for the little guys we just need someone who actually rides a crowded bus to arrange the seats so that people take more than one step inside

I mean yes but also just realized you won't let us have bendy bois and that would be waaayy worse than just keeping the current layout
