Like I was helping out with a protest last week that got pretty low attendance compared to other recent protests in the city and I was like "damn. So everyone looooves killing women and children for oil?" And it's easier to fight the fight when you know people are with you, even if they're away atm

Like for course I don't want to be supporting anyone who likes this violence. but ALSO the major news outlets are working their asses off to manufacture consent for this war, and it's so important to see in real life that people aren't falling for it! For both my sanity and for organizing

Not to shame anyone. If you're not who you want to be or doing what you want to do there's always always always time to start. I just wanna say we all believe we'd be brave and take action in the face of injustice, and that now is a good time to take stock of whether you're living up to your ideals

I've seen a lot of people dismissively be like "what you want me, a random content creator to say I hate the war?? You need me, funny YouTube guy, to weigh in on the war??" And it's like sure no one is looking to you for analysis, but it actually does a lot to add to the voices of dissent

Btw if you've ever wondered what you'd be doing if you were alive during the civil rights movement of the 60s—if you'd be fighting for Black or native or gay or trans rights or against the Vietnam war—
what have you been doing lately? That's your answer.

Highly highly recommend the kalahari!! So much happens just bc at like 9pm you run into someone doing something kooky in the hallway on ur way to get a snack in our pj's or whatever. Also leaves room for late night hangs while maximizing sleep for games the next day
