Thanks Winter. I tried that and it worked okay for the outer part of the swirl but I couldn’t get into the narrow area. Ended up using a flat sponge and broke the swirl off. Reclaimed the piece and will have to try again.

A leather hard ceramic bowl with a swirl cut out intended to use to control how yarn comes out. The swirl is nice but messy.

I could use some tool help. First attempt at a knitters bowl. If you zoom in, the edges of that swirl cut out are a mess. I ended up breaking it trying to smooth them out. I have cheap newbie tools and haven’t splurged on decent ones yet. What kind of tools are better suited for this? #pottery

This is my favorite thing about pottery. The outside world melts away for a few hours. You get to focus on just one thing and at the end you have handmade things you created yourself. It’s blissful.

4 handmade jars that are bone dry

Threw a jar set—a garlic keeper, large jar, and two acorn inspired jars. They are in the bisque fire now. Clay is a dark brown (kentucky mudworks brown bear). I need some glaze inspiration. Anyone have recommendations?
