Couldn't remember if I'd taken my 2nd dose of adderall yet today (I have a system but every once in a while this still happens). Pretty sure I didn't, so deliberately took one. I'll know the answer in about 15 minutes! 🀣

(This isn't dangerous, doc says it's fine)

If ARFID had been a thing when I was growing up, my childhood might have been just that little bit less traumatic.

I'm not too dismayed right now - I knew there was something going on and I'm grateful to know what it is! Especially something so treatable. Big question now is whether she'll eat the rx food, lol.

The declyne of readinge ys caused by manye thinges. One major cause ys a systematic & decades-long devaluinge of literature at all levels of educacioun. We kan not put instrumentalitye above meaninge and still thrive. Fundinge the humanityes ys key to a just societye of well-informed citizens.

Paws In update: The good news is Chessie's thyroid is looking good, no issue there. The bad news is she is in the beginning stages of kidney disease. This isn't unexpected for a grande dame of 18, but it does mean she's going to have to begin a rx diet and more frequent blood tests. πŸ₯Ί

#OTD in 1839, Charlotte Bronte declines Reverend Henry Nussey’s marriage proposal, claiming that he would find her β€œromantic and eccentric” and not practical enough to be a clergyman’s wife.

A small black kitten with big shiny eyes sits with its paws together as if wishing or praying. Above it, the text says: β€œMay kindness win in the end.” The background is a soft blue gradient.

Some of the women diarists featured in the new anthology. Top row, left to right: Ada Blackjack, Anne Clifford, Florence Nightingale, Fanny Burney and Anna Dostoyevskaya. Bottom row, left to right: Elizabeth Fry, Cynthia Asquith, Beatrice Webb, Charlotte Forten GrimkΓ© and Virginia Woolf

A collage of portraits and photographs of ten women from different historical periods, arranged in overlapping layers against a muted purple-grey background. The images mix oil paintings, sepia photographs, and black-and-white photographs spanning roughly four centuries of dress and style. Top row includes a grainy photograph, a Renaissance-style portrait with a large gold ruff collar, a Victorian photograph, a painted portrait with a wide-brimmed hat, and a formal photographic portrait. Bottom row shows a soft painted portrait in a white cap, two Edwardian-era black-and-white photographs, a later Victorian photograph, and a young woman in profile in a white blouse.

@bsky.app Thanks, I hate it. Really hoping this is a glitch and not a new "feature." Only 5 hours' worth of a chronological feed and then this pops up? No one who uses the Following feed wants this. We use it because we don't want to see other, potentially triggering, stuff, and because ORDER.
