Real concerns that the Government’s U-turn on the #BusinessRatesBetrayal will be a wholly inadequate sticking plaster.

The unfair & dodgy revaluation MUST be scrapped or bills will still spiral.

#Pubs need the promised genuine & PERMANENT reform of unfair & outdated #BusinessRates system.

SIBA should have continued to be the Society of Independent Brewers Association. Alas, they became compromised, both through DDS/Beerflex & some influential members getting larger and far too close to the big boys & abandoning their mission . The ‘associates’. Very sad. Very rotten.

We don’t need yet more groups! We need a strong, real voice!

Pubs & #publicans are still nervously waiting to hear about the Government’s essential U-turn on the #BusinessRatesBetrayal 🕰️

This is what #pubs need:

🔺Maintain current levels of relief
🔺Scrap the dodgy revaluation & the bent FMT system
🔺Deliver the genuine reform Labour promised

We have written to all licensing boards in Scotland, urging them to find the example of Aberdeen and to allow #pubs and bars to open for #Scotland’s World Cup matches.

All Scotland fans should be able to watch the games in the pub!

We also want a VAT cut for all of hospitality as a temporary measure and then Small Retailers Relief permanently.

Hats off to all #publicans, campaigners & MPs who have challenged this, but whatever the concession is, the flawed revaluation must be scrapped and the dodgy system of valuation scrapped or the problems will continue.

It’s a big relief that the Government is going to do a U-turn on the #pubs #BusinessRatesBetrayal but we need to see what the detail is.
