I've tried riding with an umbrella in my hand.
Crosswind makes it pretty impossible, since umbrellas are basically big sails. Then the umbrella tears itself apart.
Maybe there are specially designed, lower wind-resistance umbrellas or something.

I'm with you, but the graphic is painfully misleading. Neither gasoline in the tank of an ICE vehicle, nor charge in the battery of an electric vehicle, just appears there without any other energy spent putting it there.
