This photo is a slow shutter capture of a pelican in flight. The bottom third of the frame is light blue water, and the top two thirds is light gray, misty sky. The Pelican is center of the frame in the foreground, with its wings stretched up high.

I have always loved this photo, but never shared before becuase the Pelican is a bit #blurry. But that makes it perfect for today’s alternative theme for #BirdOfTheDay ! This was taken in Malibu, CA.

This photo was taken at sunset in Joshua Tree National Park. The sky is dark blue with diagonal streaks of pink clouds. In the foreground, a large Joshua Tree is depicted in silhouette, rising out of a rocky ridge line. All of the pink clouds steak diagonally towards the tree, leading the viewers gaze directly to it.

An #OrangeSun sunset from Juan, Switzerland. 😍 This was taken near the Chalet Du Soldat, which is a mountain hut that can be accessed via a chairlift and a hike to the summit. Such a beautiful area!
