Republican senators are calling it "special operations," "combat operation," he's calling it "war." We're going to be there—it's going to be regime change—no, it's not going to be regime change. This could be over in five days, we'll stay as long as we need to.

Thank you, Trump 😡
Payrolls falling. Unemployment rising.
The winning continues.

"Quiet death," words from Hegseth on those Iranian sailors who lost their lives.
Pause and think about that for a moment: Quiet for whom? Not for the families of the dead soldiers. Not for the survivors. Not for clapping Pete.

"If war is God’s way of teaching Americans geography, perhaps it will also serve as a lesson to Trump. It should be a simple one: Other places and other people are real, possessing their own agendas and agency, and America’s actions have consequences it cannot control."

“With Trump’s numbers in the ditch and only getting worse — a Fox News poll released Wednesday showed him 14 points underwater — Noem may be the first high-profile firing of Trump 2.0, but she almost certainly won’t be the last.”

"Many news sources today attribute Noem's firing to the comment. It’s a convenient excuse for firing a contestant whose ratings had started to lag. The star of the show didn’t want any of her tarnish to rub off on him."

Gee, did you ever study Vietnam, Mr. Hegarty?
When will athletes learn that visiting the Trump White House almost guarantees that he’ll threaten a war or something while you’re just kinda standing there in the background
She reminds me of Rasputin.
This is a great article and got too little attention when it first came out. @propublica.org is doing amazing work.

We’ve got to keep the Epstein victims and survivors centered while we pursue transparency and accountability.
Their stories must be told.
If human rights are limited to certain groups, they are not really human rights, are they?
Blumenthal: "I have emerged from classified briefings deeply concerned and very fearful that we're on the precipice not only of an escalating conflict that in region, but also putting troops on the ground b/c that is almost inevitably the path the admin has chosen by its current tactical approach"
Sen. Blumenthal has written a letter to Kristi Noem about her denial that Corey Lewandowski has a role in approving contracts at DHS.
"I demand that you amend your testimony" and "provide the basis for your apparent false statement on the record."

“Senator Susan Collins… ‘Passing this resolution now would send the wrong message to Iran and to our troops.’”
Is that message that we are a country that holds the law above the whims of a wannabe dictator? Seems like that would be a good message to send to our troops right now.

What does history tell us about where Trump’s war in Iran could be headed?
Does bombing a country weaken authoritarian regimes or harden them?

And now here we are.. Trump starts a war without congressional approval or approval from the majority of Americans, but now we have to pay the full bill for whatever he decides he wants to do because it would be unpatriotic not to let Trump do whatever he wants with our money.
They claim to have been planning this for months, to allegedly keep Americans safe, but had no plan to evacuate any Americans from the region because it happened too quickly.
Weird.
We need to pass a House rule or law that requires them to work a certain number of days to get paid. Since Mike Johnson took over these people hardly ever work. When they finally come back after weeks off they work 2 days and he sends them home for 2 more weeks. It’s ridiculous.
Kelly: "You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in DC and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now. They don't have a goal, there's no strategic plan. And what this is likely to lead to is, again, a long war with a lot of dead Americans."
