Today marks the 4th anniversary of Putin’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Kremlin planned to bring down the independent nation of Ukraine in 3 days. Showing remarkable resilience, Ukraine stands as a country defending democracy and freedom against authoritarianism.

Disadvantaged boys have talent and potential in abundance. If we want them to thrive, we have to act earlier, and more robustly, to support them to achieve their full potential. I'm working with the Labour Group for Men and Boy to achieve this.

Happy National Apprenticeship Week!

I had a great time at Bostik meeting apprentices and hearing how their training is helping them build careers.

It really matters to me that young people in Stafford have access to good job opportunities and I believe apprenticeships are SO important in that.

Reform candidate calls for β€˜young girls’ to be given β€˜biological reality’ check Exclusive: Matt Goodwin argued β€˜young girls’ should be explained β€˜the biological reality’ that β€˜many women in Britain are having children much too late in life’

Embarrassing.

The girls and young women I know are so much more impressive than this massive disappointment of a man.

Gorton & Denton - the only way to keep this guy and his repugnant views out of the House of Commons is to #votelabour🌹 in two weeks time.

Bringing together faith leaders from our local mosque, gurdwara, and churches was
one of the best ways I’ve spent a morning in this job.

Faith communities do so much to support local people already, and by working together, we can achieve more.

Productive train roundtable! We are creating a plan to improve the station, which includes opening up the back of the station to better serve west Stafford and the new Institute of Technology, as well as improving the Newport Road bridge.

Thanks to Avanti West Coast for hosting!

I ❀️ HEART of Stafford.

The Gatehouse Theatre has brought the empty TK Maxx building back to life, and it’s exactly the kind of creative, community-led project we need here in Stafford.

Huge credit to everyone involved, this is exactly the kind of project our town needs.

LOVED visiting Oakridge Primary School!

I was so proud to meet the pupil parliament MPs from each class and hear how much they care about local charities, and about the changes they are leading in school (including making sure there are more history books in the library!) What an incredible group!

Good news for pet owners! Major reforms to the veterinary sector will mean clearer prices, more transparency, and better protections.

Although Nico still thinks the ideal option is never visiting the vet at all!

So pleased that Ed accepted my invitation to GE Vernova in Stafford. Great to show him first-hand the vital role Stafford plays in delivering the UK's clean energy infrastructure.

Backing clean energy must also mean backing British manufacturing and the people here in Stafford who make it happen.

On Holocaust Memorial Day, I listened to Lord Dubs speak at the Council of Europe. Hearing him tell his story was deeply moving.

As he said, teaching the history of the Holocaust is about more than the past, it is about protecting our future, and making sure that β€œnever again” is a promise we keep.

On behalf of Stafford, Eccleshall and the villages, I signed the Holocaust Memorial Trust Book of Commitment.

Today, we remember the 6 million Jewish men, women, and children murdered in the Holocaust, honour survivors who continue to educate young people, and commit to challenging antisemitism.

This is the man who activists in the UK advocate for. A man who thinks it’s an unreasonable level of censorship to stop a platform making sexualised images of children and women.

In a way it’s good that they’re being so clear about whose team they’re really on. Get in the bin.

The notion that you deeply β€˜care’ about women and children until the point at which you can personally make £££ from a platform which produces sexually explicit images of them…..

Completely untenable.

Kemi Badenoch's shadow Attorney-General is unable to do his job, because he has chosen to represent a sanctioned Russian oligarch.

So great to see the finished roof renovations at Stafford North End Community Centre, thanks to Β£78,886 from The National Lottery Community Fund. The work means the building is safe, warm, and weatherproof for the thousands of people who use it every year. Well done to the trustees and volunteers!

Good news on inheritance tax for farmers. Today’s announcement raises the amount farmers can pass on tax-free from Β£1m to Β£2.5m for individuals and Β£5m to couples.

Thank you to everyone locally for your work in achieving this important change.

I loved visiting the Royal Mail sorting office to say thank you to the team, who are working flat out in the run up to Christmas, and I even had a go at sorting some mail myself.

A huge thank you to all the posties for their hard work!

Thanks to everyone who came along to my December coffee morning in Haughton! We discussed a range of important issues, including NHS waiting times, infrastructure first development, and protecting our local environment.

I'm planning the schedule for 2026, so let me know if you'd like one near you!

Huge well done to Calvin, my Christmas card competition winner, and Anastasia, my runner-up.

I absolutely loved surprising them in assembly to give them their certificates. There were so many great entries in this year’s competition - thank you so much to everyone who took part!

Good to visit St Peter’s Nursery and talk about the impact of the expansion of free childcare hours for local families and nurseries.

I loved meeting the children, especially joining in with their brilliant pizza song. Cuteness overload!

SEND is one of the issues raised with me most often. Based on what you all have told me, I’ve written a short report that sets out the main problems and the practical improvements I’m pushing for.

I shared it with Georgia Gould, the Schools Minister, to press for a system that works better.

On Stafford high street, too many properties are left empty for months or years, often by absentee landlords. So, today I co-sponsored Luke Akehurst's Bill, which would give councils the tools to step in and help put those spaces back to work for charities, community groups, and small businesses.
