75% of residents at new Balboa Park TOD project use BART as primary source of transportation. Curious how this compares to other BART TOD projects.

How are you getting dumped by a guy who's sagging? Drop! DROP YOUR LEGS! SQUARE UP! GET YOUR FRAME IN ORDER!

If that was my body guard I might have to let 'em go.

Lurie's bodyguard does not look like he knows how to grapple. I understand not getting into fistfights with randos in the TO. He did his job acting as a distraction for Lurie to get away. But bro: no frame. Doesn't drop his legs. Headlocks someone behind him, which is just an easy way to get dumped.

Is the Bay Area really under supplied in college graduates relative to job openings?

Im shopping around for a unit too and it really sucks right now. The issue is theres so few BART stations in Oakland so you're just limited hard.

Cut homelessness by 50% in Oakland? A new plan says it’s possible Mayor Lee’s homelessness office has issued a bold report. But funding is short, and there’s a different plan already on the table.

A pretty bold plan. Motel conversions to permanent supportive housing + assistance payments for at risk households could probably dramatically reduce homelessness in Oakland and everywhere. Big issue: Alameda County needs to do operate it but the County is weak.

Entering year two of this exhausting civil war across the federal court system where every day the admin cooks up some evil and illegal supervillain scheme and we all hope for a district court to save us and for it not to reach the supreme court

Ah ok. But how does a non-low-resource area even exclude itself from implementation? Would the exclusion areas be the commercial zones that achieve like 50% of SB 79 density?

California’s fire safety regulators are finally out with a 'single stair' report. They don’t love the idea California’s fire safety regulators were asked to study whether mid-rise apartments can go with a single staircase like other countries.

The report from the State Fire Marshal stresses that IF state legislators want to raise the single stair maximum, they should go no higher than four stories.

Meanwhile, @votealexlee.bsky.social has a spot bill to allow single-stair apts "with 4 or more stories."

I'm sure the series did that to communicate that violent incel radicalization can happen even to you and it certainly makes for a much more relatable story among the average viewer so I get it.

The unrealistic part of Adolescence was that the boy came from a two-parent household and had an attentive father. Of course, fringe shock crimes like that can happen, but to stab someone + have a friend with a knife is usually caused by a lot more than a dad that screams a lot.

Is there a reason the media is hellbent on portraying Joe Rogan as regretful or critical of Trump based on 30 seconds clips of his most mildest criticisms and ignoring the hours before and after of Trump apologism and support?

But can we acknowledge that pre-code stuff was with older buildings and tenements? I dont question why it was adopted for its time period. I question why it exists in new buildings and exclusively in North America.

So this study is based on the Lived-Experience-of-Firefighters and not quantitative research or comparisons to peer nations? This does not seem to be an evidence-based approach to public policy. Very disappointing.

Maybe we can do the study every year and bounce it up a floor.

Accusing Jamelle Bouie of "exaggerated nastiness" and "hateful, uncharitable commentary" is absolutely insane.

So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."

Remember what I said about how, when Trump is flailing, they start inserting a fake, fictional Trump into their stories, who is acting rationally and sanely?

Plenty of people in power believe in trans rights and pursue use of their power to protect them yet are not offered NYT op-ed space to make the case for that opinion as often as anti-trans people are offered the same space. So what's going on there?
