This IWD falls during a legislative session where devastating cuts to jobs, disability services & supports, arts & culture & recreation, and funding for L’nu & African Nova Scotian programming will disproportionately impact women. A better future is possible. We won’t stop fighting for it.

If we want to have a thriving, dynamic province we need to invest in women’s health care, education, innovation and brilliance, all reflected in our legislative proposals and the work we do every day.

Good luck to Emma Archibald from Fall River! She's the only Nova Scotian competing in the Milano Cortina Paralympics this year, and the first Nova Scotian to compete in Para nordic cross-country skiing at the Games. Go, Emma, go!

That’s not responsible leadership. That’s mismanagement. Nova Scotians deserve better.

But Tim Houston has driven Nova Scotia into the deepest financial hole we’ve ever been in.

Now he's trying to balance the budget on the back of the most vulnerable Nova Scotians with cuts to services and jobs people rely on.

The Houston government inherited a balanced budget and received unprecedented revenue over the last five years — more money to work with than any government in our province’s history. And the premier himself is a chartered accountant.

And while Nova Scotians show up to defend their land, livelihoods and culture, the Premier is in Ontario, avoiding the consequences of his own choices.

Today I joined hundreds of Nova Scotians at the Shoulder to Shoulder rally at Province House.

Nova Scotians are upset and they have every right to be. These cruel cuts are hurting families and communities across our province.

If you or someone you know is waiting far too long for things like ultrasounds, endometriosis care, or cancer screening, share that story with this government at the Public Bills Committee.

Call 902-424-8941 and ask to be on the list to speak on Bill 198 the Financial Measures Act.

Ask Tim Your NSP Questions If the Premier/Minister of Energy was serious about holding Nova Scotia Power accountable, people would be feeling it by now. Ask your questions.

Now, this budget strips services, programs, and at least 1,000 jobs from communities across the province.

These are the choices this government is making.

After record-breaking spending, this government chose to cut from the Nova Scotians who could least afford it first.

46,000 people lost the heating assistance they relied on to stay warm through the winter.

The Premier made himself the energy minister, and so far he’s refused to launch a review of Nova Scotia Power, provide real protections, or take meaningful action to lower people’s power bills.

He squandered years of unprecedented revenues, and now Nova Scotians are paying the price.

Cruel cuts like slashing the program that helped Nova Scotians afford their power bills — those are the choices this government is making as life gets less affordable.

Nova Scotians trusted this government, but what they're getting is higher power bills, housing that’s harder to afford, uncertainty around emergency care, a lack of affordable childcare, a credit downgrade and a massive deficit.

Five years of record revenues in Nova Scotia have been squandered.

The cuts run wide and deep: public service jobs, the arts and libraries, tourism, community organizations and the scientific management of our natural resources to name a few.

While power bills and housing costs continue to rise, this government is telling Nova Scotians to get ready to sacrifice. This massive deficit isn’t the fault of hard working Nova Scotians. It’s time for the Houston government to answer for the choices they made to get us here.
