There was a study back in 2014 out of Princeton that looked at which actors had the most impact on public policy. They found that normal people had a "near-zero, statistically non-significant impact" on policy. archive.org/details/gile...
The world is now run by corporations not governments.
It costs an average of 2.5 mil to run for a house seat & 12 mil to run for the Senate. Donors don't bribe 'moral' congress people, they find people already receptive to them. Either way, if they don't play ball they can't afford the next election and suddenly their opposition is flooded with scratch
If Dems would stop taking corporate PAC money and pass popular legislation like universal healthcare, tuition-free college or trade school, a pre-K-12 overhaul, a living wage, fair housing, as well as safe affordable childcare, they would be on the right track. All this costs less than endless wars.
They are the better option, but the main reasons people don't vote at all is center-right corporate dems and Citizens United. Corporations "donate money" then expect favors in return both sides take the same PAC money. There's enough elegable non-voters to have a viable 3rd party let that sink in.🧵

they don’t understand systems or they wouldn’t have destroyed the systems on which the US has relied for so long. Now the UK PM says he talked to “allies and the United States” after the UK said the drone aimed at their base did NOT come from Iran. They might control US media but not the world.
To have educated citizens is power, so whatever they think, it’s stupid.
Actually politicians do understand that education is power, or else they wouldn't be working so hard to limit access to education by certain groups.
I’ve said it before, and I say it again: Politicians that doesn’t understand that education is power doesn’t really understand how the world works.
The Republicans want their electorate uneducated. Otherwise, they would see what's going on in the rest of the world, how much worse off they are, and vote against them.
The US is the country with the largest amount of poorly educated people in the Western world. This will not change until the vast majority of people there understand the value of education.
And yet, these a**holes continue to get elected, leaving their messes for democrats to clean up.
Like clockwork.
