An area that still looked much the same twenty five years ago, but has now changed beyond recognition.
Have you seen The Blue Lamp? Filmed around Paddington and White City. Most of the locations are now under the Westway.
Swindon?
I wonder if the up line was slewed north as part of this in order to reduce curvature. This would require demolition of the original platform, and would also explain the narrowness of the new platform compared to the District Line one.
I'd always thought it ironic that the one station on the Bow to Upminster section to have its LTS platforms reopened was also the only one where they were demolished after closure. Had no idea that they closed more then two decades earlier than the others.
That wasn't standardised then either. The Central London Railway had a centre positive rail and return through the running rails. It still isn't completely standard as the (outside) positive rail is mounted higher than other lines in order to fit the slightly smaller tunnels.
Looks like a certain South Coast town that contains a rather special 1930s pavilion.
Looks dangerous!
Thanks Lady Lim! Hope you are good too. ๐ฌ

Have you seen the other St. Paul's (Bow Common)? Totally different, but just as stunning.
The post war LCC out country estates seem to be rather green, Harold Hill especially so. Merstham, where I grew up seemingly remained many existing trees when the estate was built, but a fair few were lost in 1987 and not replaced.
