Omomayowa O. Abati presents research this week at the Political Studies Association annual meeting in Birmingham. We find that areas of Africa with more multilingualism generally have less armed conflict.
He’ll also present some of his fieldwork research.

Fieldwork continues! After tons of interviews in Cameroon, our team from the University of Essex Departments of Government and Language and Linguistics is now in Abuja, Nigeria, discussing links between armed conflict, language, and multilingualism for our ESRC project.
