I made this as February’s patron print! weirdly it was a struggle to get the color to read as actually red and not orange or pink, but we got there in the end. very happy with this gilded beast.

FYI for fellow narrative designers/game writers: the studio in question is Sentona Games and it’s my understanding they are currently interviewing to replace me. Be very careful with them. They were very nice to me and easy to work with right up until I needed the money I was promised.

Been working with EnergyTrust of Oregon on a multiyear project about bridges from different parts of the state. The siren song of landscape painting has started to allure me, and i’ve been enjoying the change of pace playing with gouache textures.

The ones I've used the most are the 22 series for fine line comic book inking (it was the Rosemary equivalent of the W&N series 7, iirc)

But i bought a few of their squirrel mops one year and they were nice too

I messed with the synthetics and they didn't seem any better than Raphael for the price

Favourite face I’ve drawn today.

I've used dozens of their brushes over the years and they have always been top notch

I haven't bought any in about 2 years, so hopefully the quality is still good

The artists peaking at 30 thing is of course very stupid but it gives me an excuse to mention since I didn't start working as a professional artist until I was 32 and I didn't draw these until I was 35/37/39/43.

So stoked to be a part of this incredible book 💪
