😂 are you able to DM me?
@uisgebeatha.bsky.social they are - want to talk? ✊
@atomcrowley.bsky.social give me shout if you want to talk more about this ✊
Head up to the Scottish Poetry Library and have a shot of these AI machines. Unique poetry receipts! ChatGPT's love rival! Poetry translation problems solved!
The LEX-9000 Human Verses Machine and the Machine Whispers poetry translator are outputs of @braiduk.bsky.social project Writing the Wrongs of AI in collab with @edbookfest.bsky.social and supported by @designinf.bsky.social @edcdcs.bsky.social @edfuturesinstitute.bsky.social
There's been a robot invasion @byleaveswelive.bsky.social!
Do pop in and have a go on the interactive exhibits incl. the LEX-9000 automatic writing machine first debuted at the @edbookfest.bsky.social - now part of Edinburgh Science Festival 🤖
Kind of ironic that my Critique of Linguistic Capitalism was stolen to train a Large Language Model 🤯
Oh FFS
Get your rabid AI away from me. I’m exhausted with it all. Screaming into the void, we did this @edbookfest.bsky.social last year vimeo.com/1002527616
Today, the UK government announced a proposal to change copyright law - for the benefit of AI companies - that would cause huge, irreversible harm to creators.
More info below, but most importantly here's what you can do (wherever you live):

I’m convinced. It’s a mashup of #slowhorses, #loveactually, #lockstock and maybe a bit of #spooks. They asked ChatGPT or Claude to make it into a 6 part drama. Only explanation.
#blackdoves was written by an algorithm. There’s no other explanation.
Maybe one of the reasons there are so many unhinged academics is that in order to keep your job, you’re constantly required to tout yourself as a Scholar of World-Historical Significance, even as your office’s ceiling tiles slowly dislodge themselves to fall on your head.
These findings are unsurprising. Much focus is rightly placed on student wellbeing - I see regular announcements about it - but little care or attn to faculty. We are often treated as a renewable resource, lucky to have jobs, and as though we have unlimited hours to care for everyone but ourselves.
A great example of how no one can find actual uses for LLMs that aren't scams for grifts. Quite literally the LAST thing publishing needs is MORE manuscripts, especially low quality and unedited AI regurgitations. This isn't a problem being solved.

No no no
He’s looking at the man in the mirror 🕺🏻
Had a great time with @pipt.bsky.social this afternoon talking to students about the fact that while they technically *can* use AI to automate some of their processes, that doesn't necessarily mean they *should*.
Please could I be added! 🙏
👏 👏👏

The Journal of Continental Philosophy has just published my latest article, “The Computational Search for Unity: Synthesis in Generative AI”.
I address the representational reality of LLMs through the philosophical concept of synthesis.

I like the title of my interview for the Swiss Young Academy a lot. Because it’s true 😉

Hurrah for first interaction with @amoorelouise.bsky.social on here! That is was a moan about GenAI and language - even better! 💥 🎉 🤗
Which is why its poetry is shit.
(Unless you wanted synthetic, structured, representational poem-shit)
I can’t find Beatrice Fazi on here yet, but until she gets here, her pretty dazzling new paper on synthesis in #generativeAI www.pdcnet.org/pdc/bvdb.nsf...

We built a writing machine to parody ChatGPT. The LEX-9000 was launched at the Edinburgh Book Festival but got a bit overwhelmed when @ianrankin1.bsky.social tried it out…. Rankin 1 : Robot 0
