Exactly. I would say this probably started as an aesthetic bit and maybe has some effectiveness in pulling a little air out of the wheels.
I believe that my record is 27 minutes from parked to sitting on the plane.
Thatβs usually the one unknown because theyβll wait for it to fill up at times.
This is not the most efficient configuration for them but they still work when installed backwards and help to evacuate air. Flipping ducts backwards is illegal in NASCAR because teams figured out that they could evacuate air from the cockpit and improve speed at superspeedways.
One of my most efficient CLT airport arrivals today:
6:42am: Parked.
6:45am: On Shuttle.
6:57am: Arrive at Terminal.
7:00am: Passed through Precheck.
7:08am: Pickup coffee.
7:10am: Boarding starts.
7:16am: Seated on plane.

The pre-race grid walk at Daytona was overflowing with fans and they all had the opportunity to get this close to our Lexus RC F GT3.
It was pretty incredible to see lines of fans every time we walked out of the garage to head to pit lane at Daytona.
