Leader of Brazil.
These giants create waves in space time that propagate according to the Sciama Principle.
It's these waves that mean galaxies won't merge.
The same waves explain galactic rotation curves, without need for dark matter.
What if galaxies are constantly arriving in our visible universe, highly blue shifted as gamma-ray bursts?
And galaxies grow over extraordinary times through slow growth of their giant central black holes?
How can galaxies merge if everything is moving apart?
What if not everything is moving apart and galaxies do not merge?

Huge thanks to @fastly.com for 10+ years of keeping #PyPI up and running! PyPI serves 800K+ users at ~100K requests/sec. With a small team behind the service, that kind of scale is only possible because of infrastructure partners who invest in the sustainability of the #Python ecosystem.
I've been mulling language Dems could adopt to basically say Trump will have to personally pay for the illegal things he did w/o authorization, and once he's broke, his trillionaire friends will have to do it.
Eg, Trump will be fined for rebuilding the White House after the damage he did.
« I leave with peace of mind, with a sense of work accomplished, knowing that the city has taken the lead in the areas of ecology and solidarity »
Huge thanks to mayor Anne Hidalgo

UKRI funding changes are raising serious concern across the UK science community. More than 50 university physics leaders including all 23 Russell Group universities with physics facilities have warned that proposed cuts risk undermining innovation-led economic growth.

A picture of Kiefer Sutherland in a white shirt, with the cuffs rolled up and his arms crossed. To the left of him are the words he wrote to the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford: Mr. Ford, Your tweet has recently come to my attention and I can tell you that you are correct, my grandfather Tommy Douglas was fiscally responsible. In addition to balancing the budget of Saskatchewan, he also provided the province with paved roads, healthcare and electricity. He did it all within four years. Contrary to your argument, it was never at the expense of social and human services to those in need. I personally find your comparison of your policies to his offensive. So I only ask, as the grandson of this man, for you to stop posting his picture and using his name as part of your political agenda. After all, I knew Tommy Douglas and you Sir, are no Tommy Douglas. P.S. You're lucky my mum's not active on Twitter Sincerely, Kiefer Sutherland
What Kiefer has to say to Doug Ford also applies to Danielle Smith & the UCP and Scott Moe & the Saskatchewan Party.

It is March 1st, which means the launch of our very successful Transit Satisfaction survey.
The last survey was powerful in shaping policy, and I expect this one going into a election, and being 'post pandemic' to be even more so. So please share widely.

Imagine #OttCity as a better #PlaceForPeople: take away the NCC bike paths and MUPs and what do we have? Some painted lines (most not winter maintained) and a couple of kms of barely protected bike lines DT. Sure, lots of recreational paths in suburbs but how does that help get ppl to work/school?
See also "Signal Chat Is Fine".
So it's his job to blow up leaders, but somebody else's problem to fix the mess?
So he's a chaos monkey, not a president?
Here's a balanced transport policy for you to follow:

Driverless cars causing carnage on Rideau Street.
Transit fares have gone up 17% since 2020, all whilst the service has been increasingly unreliable.
How does this help achieve the transportation master plan's goal of increasing transit ride share?
He's much better at promising jam tomorrow than actually making jam.
Taking credit for promising something that happened under your predecessor and failed to materialize under your admin is devious enough to make Machiavelli blush. ottawacitizen.com/opinion/stop...

Text explaining how there isnβt a war on cars, with all the benefits of reallocating street space to move a lot more people with a lot less space and other consequences, including life and death, pollution/emissions, public and personal costs, etc. Providing more choices works better for everyone, including drivers. And more transportation choices support the economic competitiveness of cities, as smart cities know.
Iβm not a fan of politicians trying to make people angry for votes by claiming there actually IS a βwar on carsβ (there isnβt β if anything thereβs been a war on every OTHER way of getting around since the 1960s).
A politician just made the claim on LinkedIn. Hereβs the reply I posted. #UrbanTruth
Evan, you read my mind. My entire team took quick notice of this shocking story. And yes, this is a clear and extreme instance for why my Transit Reliability & Accountability Framework is needed. Organizations - private and public - need to be accountable to the people they serve.
Every councillor who supported Few Ways to Bus, LRT service cuts, and budget austerity shares a part of the blame for the suffering of this individual, and should apologize.
Service cuts have a compounding effect for multi-stage routes, risking riders' health and safety.
I wonder if either our current or previous mayor really understands this.

You know what reduces congestion? Public transit. And guess who defunded it? See: Picture one through four.
Shitty governance is one thing, but hypocrisy, we could all do without.
Anne Heggtveit stands facing the camera in a black-and-white photo, smiling broadly. She wears a light-colored, fur-trimmed parka with a round βOlympic Games Canadaβ patch on the chest and patterned cuffs. Her short, tousled hair frames her face. She holds a small, textured medal or token up toward the camera in her right hand, with an outdoor background blurred behind her.
Anne Heggtveit was born in Ottawa was a ski racing prodigy who became an Olympic champion for Canada. One of our greatest Olympians of the mid-20th century, she inspired many skiers who came after her.
This is her story.

This: #OtCity has a golden opportunity in front of it to create a #BetterByWard what is squandering it by not spending any effort to make pedestrian or cycling space a priority; itβs even removing the poultry one block of pedestrian space that happens every summer #SquanderedPotential 1/
