That's interesting. The vinyl release of Steady Diet of Nothing (Fugazi, 1991) had the title track (Steady Diet) split across the end of side A and the start of Side B - it fades out and back in again. They could have put the entire track on either side A or side B but chose to split it.
It's a funny idea. Maybe the Weezer one was chosen as the unit because it was the shortest, would that be it?
Took me a while to understand where I got the 59 minutes from. I skimmed Wikipedia too quickly, thought the 2 durations here were for side A and side B, and added them up.

I seem to have missed something about length being measured in Weezers. The Weezer album is about 59 minutes long and lasts 1.0 Weezer. So far so good. The Wilco album is shorter but lasts more than one Weezer. Help, trying to understand. Thanks.
