A clearly unwell man comes up to me holding a distressed PCB high and rambling about the government. He arrives, says “I’m not going to hit on you” three times at increasing volume, turns around, and forcefully marches away. Progress?

Reminder that tomorrow is the bad daylight savings according to everybody except for my cat (who loves being fed an hour early).
What is the past tense of “troubleshoot?”
Only one way to find out.
The new Clinton-related workplace sexual harassment oral sex scandal is gay? Maybe somebody needs to reign the writers in a little, audiences are very sensitive about woke reboots.

“I’m starting to get serious about finishing my Halloween costume.”
“What are you going to be?”
“A Japanese racehorse turned into a mentally ill high schooler.”
“I’m sure the three people who get it will love it.”
Here is a branch of the DoJ explaining the overwhelming link between "militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism" and terrorism. Thank goodness @archive.org's Wayback Machine archived it: this article was pulled after Kirk's assassination. web.archive.org/web/20250911...
This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.
Old soviet joke: a man buys a newspaper, glances at the front page, and throws it out. He does this several days in a row until the clerk finally asks him what he's doing.
"I'm checking for an obituary."
"But you don't even open the newspaper! The obituaries aren't on the front page!"
If you've got food you want to store safely without buying chemistry equipment and you aren't interested in fridge pickles and portioned frozen tomato sauce, check out It's Always Freezer Season by Ashley Christensen and Kaitlyn Goalen. They have a freezer-tolerant mashed potato recipe too!
It's not a good decade to pick up canning, mushroom foraging, and other hobbies that killed people just fine despite years of mentorship pre-AI. A lot of the human-written guides are honestly dangerous. www.cdc.gov/botulism/pre... At a bare minimum, get a way to test the pH in the jars.
Bread makers are like "oh this recipe is so forgiving I dipped three large wingfeathers instead of the four tailfeathers in blood and rotated them counterclockwise instead of clockwise while the moon was slightly waning instead of properly full and it came out great. It's basically foolproof!"
The funniest possible outcome would be if Norman Reedus could no longer use Discord in Britain.
My suggestion is consider how hard it is to get time for a vacation and how rare a national road trip opportunity is! It sounds like you’re experiencing time pressure here but that’s a part of your situation I don’t understand well. That said, 80 goes right past Burning Man...
Oh man I hope you get to see all the sweet parks and monuments. I’ve been dreaming of a trip like this, let me know if ideas help en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermili...
“Lemonade” screams the small child. Her parents sit nearby with a pitcher, supportive but baffled. I stop my bike and the child starts trying to upsell me a bad math discount at 3 glasses. I pay in exact cash; she gives me change anyway. The lemonade is terrible. The child is a terror and perfect.
Photo of Trump filing against Murdock that says “Represented by DONALD J. TRUMP PRO SE”
does this mean the complaint will end with “THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!”
You're not wrong, and also, I don't normally use this logic because there are some specific ways in which our modern food supply has made us less safe. Salmonella as we know it in eggs is pretty specific to the American food system (other countries vaccinate hens).

hey, you guys? is it a good thing or a bad thing if during a hearing your own co-counsel texts your other co-counsel and says “oh shit that was just not true” in reference to something you just told the chief judge of the D.C. district court???
This Ouija board is only useful for fabricating crimes from mass surveillance. If you're asked to build this, your options are to refuse, sabotage, quit, or to forever be the scum that built hell, to make your soon-forgotten name a stain on this earth. It's time for engineers to grow a spine.
ok update I called purpleair up and they explained that their sensors are particularly bad at dust storms and that while they are working on a new sensor that detects the large particles there are some situations where you currently have to use the EPA website. What a day for that workaround.
And yes I'm quite sure the purpleair one is the one that's wrong it has seemed wonky for more than a month now, this is just the thing clear enough to make me sure. The imagery coming out of phoenix is very clear about this. www.abc15.com/weather/stor...
A screencap from the EPA website showing the AQI in northwestern phoenix as hazardous.
A screencap of this same geography also using the EPA standard where the air quality appears fine.
PSA for folks in wildfire and other areas with bad air quality: Purpleair is having serious issues and should not be used until this is resolved. Check out these two images of phoenix, where they are having a dust storm. (Source www.newsweek.com/children-tol...) Use gispub.epa.gov/airnow/ instead.
When I worked in nonprofit development I oversold the economic mobility our org created. A donor did the work to correct me, “you know ‘teach a man to fish, feed him for a day?’ Well, the people with money to be big donors think ‘Teach a man to fish, lose a market.’”
Fun fact, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social had a musician phase where he went by Mr. Cardamom and made a track about how much he loves his grandma (played by Madhur Jaffrey) youtu.be/iQVsVNPkPmE
I hope you don’t mind a follow-up on this. Thanks for looking out for cats and stuff.
Man the @eff.org’s Foilies are going to be something else this year. @maassive.bsky.social, you’ve seen this?
