Thank you and definitely!
Thank you and definitely!
An interesting find today, because a juvenile Xysticus sp. was just hanging out in an Argiope bruennichi web! She tolerated it too as it was moving around a lot and she paid it no heed. At one point it even walked across her. @britishspiders.bsky.social
Whattttttttt?!!!!! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.... Xysticus sp. with Asagena phalerata prey! @britishspiders.bsky.social
Some dry plant stems and green grasses in a meadow with a large flask shaped egg cocoon hanging suspended by silken threads amongst them.
Had a saunter through my local park this aftetnoon and spotted several Argiope bruennichi egg cocoons in the tiny bit of meadow that wasn't mown at the end of summer. The spiderlings will have already hatched and are sitting tight until spring - proabably not above a bit of cannabilism though...
Happy Christmas everyone. Hope you like our handmade pallet snowmen ⛄️.
Thanks.
Not much chance to get out at the moment, so here's a wonderful Chernes cimicoides I found earlier in the year in Exeter.
It is with enormous sadness that I have resigned from my role as president of the RSPCA . I would like to register my respect and admiration for all the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to protect animals from cruelty . Thank you .
