No, I know, but it'd be neat for them to fall apart from the inside, save us some trouble
Maybe they were just working on the "non lethal" parts of the sub?
Let's roll an xray machine up to parliament house and see if there's a spine between them
Let's make a day of it, they can all fuck off π₯°
Look i know no ALP leader was ever spilled for being a morally reprehensible coward but they could make a change
I know we can't expect integrity or principles from politicians and I know Albanese has shown himself to be a coward and a hypocrite time and time again, so I can't say I am shocked, but I am deeply revolted
If we all say "it's on" enough do you think it would become on?
This is clearly a strategy by Microsoft to artificially inflate the numbers of Copilot users.
Once again - if these tools were half as good as they say they are they wouldn't have to force us to use them
I can't record my lectures without enabling the use of this fucking useless, gas-guzzling, water-guzzling, tool. My lectures already have outlines, take away messages & key points highlighted. We don't need to squish frogs to get a worse version of what I have already fucking done
Just learned that if you disable "Copilot and Other AI" in your Teams lecture, it will also disable automatic recording/transcription. This is to "prevent Microsoft 365 Copilot from accessing any sensitive information that may have been shared"
I dispute the successful/functional comparison here but feel warmed by the idea of being your doppelganger and comrade in the struggle against this whole mess ππ
right?! I've argued - obviously in vain - that if they're going to run with this terrible system in which a person needs to be performing at the next level for 2 years before they're considered promotable, they should at least receive backpay for those two years.
I do not think I, a human geographer with dyscalculia, should have to argue with a software engineering professor about the meaning of "exponential", but here we are
If you believe that LLM is a form of consciousness then you must look at my sourdough starter as some sort of god
thank you! It was a really fun one π₯°
Thanks mate!
Our book came out! π Does this mean I can go back to bed for the rest of 2026?
It's open access, it's about stories in/for geography - link.springer.com/book/10.1007...
I'm so grateful to the Storying Geography Collective, who have offered me rare moments of joy-in-the-job in the last few years π₯°
news: today capitalist AI did something fucking terrible, just like yesterday
some lefties: what the fuck, this capitalist bullshit sucks
AI pushers: can't believe the left hates technology
Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.
And you know why?
Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.
the dollar value of labour is in freefall and the global economy is being dramatically reconfigured to even more egregiously favour of the rich over people who work for a living, everything is becoming faker and the last dregs of joy are being sucked from existence. why doesnβt the left support this

reminds me of the ecomodernist bullshit so huge in the mid 00s, a similar simplistic refusal to grapple with the material conditions of, well, anything
It is a devastatingly shit state of things
