10 years of writing #RStat code, and I still get bitten by using [ ] instead of [[ ]]
"Bringing R to mobile wasnβt an easy feat. Like any innovative project, it involved countless hours of trial and error, learning, and refining. But the question remains: Why did we do it? Whatβs the real-world impact of having R in your pocket?"

Thanks πͺ
Hope you enjoyed it πͺ
Thank you π
It took me a couple of hours to get the confetti working on the app, but that's def worth it π€£
Thanks π«Ά
I def agree with you, even more in an industry perspective where there are a lot of tablets used in the working environment. That's doable, but for the current app it was about proving that's possible, so we wanted to cover the devices where we would have the more reach :)
And thanks :)
Awesome πͺ Feel free to download and test it, I'll be glad to have your feedback!
There are a lot of restrictions when it comes to running webR, which is run in a sandboxed WebAssembly environment, so complex shiny apps would rely on things that might not be doable inside this env.
Well, it might be a bit complicated, and I'm not sure it would really work in offline mode, and the app would need to be convertible to shinylive. I have explored this path so far, I feel like that's doable but for small apps and not large ones.
Well, are there any other ways to write code? π
Thanks π«Ά
Did you manage to get 5 first attempts in a row? π
Over the years we had a lot of clients actually needing to make their models accessible on an app that could run on a mobile device, without an internet connection :)
So yeah there are some use cases in the industry
Well, this specific one is not targeted for iPad, as we wanted to make a Proof of concept and managing larger screens requires some adjustment we haven't made yet...
But I actively opt out of iPad, it's not a technical barrier, so to answer your question: yes, that's doable.
Feel free to install it and give it a try!
I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of a new era. We've been working on it for several months, and we're really happy with the end result. I'm looking forward to your feedback π«Ά

I'm so, so thrilled to finally share the release of Rlinguo, a mobile app that runs R π±
This is a fully, native mobile app that uses #webR in the backend to run R functions.
Available on the App Store (iPhone) & Play Store (Android)
