i mean it’s easier to start businesses if you can afford to fail!

I bought Mabel this caterpillar toy as she used to have one she lived. except it just arrived and it’s the size of a small alligator

yeah i’ve done that but there are so many places they could get in that i guess i missed some

i was using one i bought on iherb. its a cleaning product but seemed to do the trick.. made with peppermint oil

i’ve tried traps but ended up just getting a pest removal guy cos they were all under the house. the peppermint oil works really well though i have a spray that i put under the fridge and behind my sideboard where i see them

ugh i hate them p

mabel has fresh food so hers is all in the freezer. but there are probably bits of treats that she has dropped

i’ve had them here twice because there are just gaps everywhere with it being an old house. almost makes me want to move. i haven’t had them in awhile but clearly now I do

I only have three sets of bassinet sheets (and really three seemed like overkill) but tonight i’m grateful for them. I don’t know how she managed to wet through her nappy TWICE? I swear I know how to put them m on. i had to go out to the car to get more nappies that i’d left there.

usually she sleeps soooo well but tonight has been off the chain and yes yes i know about sleep regressions.

so it’s really been a fantastic night all round.

It’s 2.16am. Tilly has been screaming since 9pm. she has somehow wet through two outfits & sheet sets. I don’t have any more sleep sacks that aren’t wet and are the right warmth so she’s just gonna have to sleep in a onesie. I saw a mouse in the kitchen. an then suddenly she crashed out.

somehow this child has been awake from 7pm and been through two outfit changes and when i got her up to. hangs her at 1am she grinned at me and said “mooo”. she’s four months old and she is punkimg me 😂

also i have two younger sisters and now that I have Tilly idk how anyone has three kids. the amount of work is insane. my mum has occasionally said she doesn’t really remember the 80s 😂

also my mum had worked till i was born which helped buy the family home, and my dad had a small side business before side hustles were a thing (running laundrettes of all things). so yeah. interesting to think about

my mum was at home for most of my early childhood (until I was about ten) but I recall a lot of kids I went to primary school with went to after school care. i remember because i was jealous i couldn’t go too (aren’t kids great 😂).

Before i brought Tilly home I set up a chill out spot for Mabel under the stairs with a comfy bed etc. she’s never used it…. until tonight. she’s hit the wall 😂

Just to be clear, everyone else is buggered and has had enough too, David Littleproud…but apparently we’re not able to quit the world.

So bloody shattered. Took Mabel to the park then the groomer then Tilly and i looked at sofas and we went to Mothers Group then picked Mabel up then Tilly had a bath and I cleaned the fridge out and now she’s asleep (which is a miracle) so I’m getting actual dinner

Then i went to mothers group and someone talked about their two days a week nanny and someone else about how they went to a wellness retreat because they “single parented” for two days and i’ve had enough of people today

also there was this pregnant lady there with her mum and they were upselling her so much useless shit HARD.

at COTS I mean. also i almost bought tilly a toy whale then happened to look at the price and it was SEVENTY DOLLARS

I went to the fancy baby store, The Memo. seemed a bit of a scam to me. I wanted to look at cute and they had hardly any and when i asked about ones with a dropside they sneered and said that it’s “not really a thing anymore” but that i could probably get them at Baby Bunting. nice.

i wouldn’t do two days but maybe a morning. would be nice to take mabel to the beach or something without a baby with me too

honestly even just taking my laptop to a cafe and getting life admin done either a coffee would be nice

yeah i’m sure i could find things. get a haircut. go to a movie.

someone at my mothers group said they have this maternity nanny who comes two days a week. maybe i could do that. although i sorta want a day off in my house LOL

i feel like that time was the WORST as you’re so over it by then but there’s still so long to go. and the whole second trimester energy thing was a lie

I yelled at Mabel and now she’s doesn’t want to come into bed 😭
