‎‘Lady Vengeance’ review by Jōji 「ホルヘ ジョージ」 • Letterboxd I first saw this movie around 2008 or 2009. Part of director Park Chan-wook's «vengeance trilogy», along with Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002) and Oldboy (2003), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, in my opinion, condenses and refines the themes and aesthetics of this period of Chan-wook's work. The movie is a pleasure to experience, starting with the plot that hits you in a violent way in the first minutes and then slowly begins to unravel, visually is quite delicate and elegant with a neo-noir aesthetic, which serves to balance the violence, blood and gore that the movie has to deal with.
