Pub 3289, Parchment Makers, Havant. Grimy noisy thing with a grotty 7.5 carpet and Acorn Old Moor Porter which somehow managed to not be great even though it should be great. Dad forgot to get a drink but watched me drink mine.

Pub 3287, Brewers Tap, Pompey. Cinder Toffee Stout a lot smoother than that gritty bitty win. Bulldog sniffs my foot, Dad shares table with jolly grey locals, my 'ey oop, by gum, what a beer' comment gets me found out. John Jacques would've chucked me out by now.

Revisit. Lion n Unicorn, Waterloo. My new fav Spoons if we ignore prices. Even the Portobello drinks well. So comfy n weirdly cosy. Carpet an easy 8.5. Is that rumbling I can hear a train or Daddy's tummy?

York Tap, York. My fav barmaid with wet nose n eyes says last orders 22:45 so I need to stop being a lameoid. Not sure what I'm drinking, but it works.

Pub 3285, Brewhouse & Kitchen, Chelmsford. Snotty courthouse growling building full of try hards and a decent IPA effort. Quite liked it though everyone was patronising n treated me like an 80 yr old.

Pub 3284, Voodoo Keller Bar, Chelmsford. It was a bit weird like if Newcastle Head of Steam was less convincing. Good drunkness throughout. Music Smashmouth, Offspring, BRAPA Roach. Took me back 😍 xxx

Pub 3283, Tap Room 19, South Woodham Ferrers. Main bloke very growly. Crouch Ender. Hates veganism. Bo. Daughter is Bridlington. But she isn't Moon Tap aware.

Gooood evening friends. ESB drinking favourably. Got a few pints to catch up on but in control. In leafy main bit. Not a fan. But nice on whole cos late train home.

Well it isn't true of them all by any means but yep you never know what you're gonna get!

Pub 3282, One Green Bottle, Battlesbridge. Magnificent curio hidden amongst antique shops. Think a harder Tardebigge. Everyone merry cos it is Essex 3pm. Loos behind the Trotter van. Landlady river dancing to Status Quo a personal highlight.

Pre-emptive Roebuck, Rayleigh. Quite a poor Wetherspoons except the 8.33 carpet. Barmaid of no charm says my 20p is fake and acts like I've been pressing fake coins myself. I got drink for 20p less though. Beer too warm. Locals weird or nice.

Pub 3281, Crafty Casks, Rayleigh. Reminds of that Spurs spin off series in the mid 90's where one of their midfielders designs miniature felt woodland animals .... Caskey Crafts.

An ok micro, swerved exciting ESB for quite good Shamrock Stout. Motivated crowd in.

Pub 3280, White Hart, Hockley. This pab is why Essex is a low-key county fave of mine. Full of rosy oldies with indecipherable accents. I paid in coins cos it felt right. Hidden food happening but the pub takes precedent. Wye Valley a bit warm but nice enough.

Pub 3279, Plough, Shustoke. Second best pub in the village, how harsh is that? Proper growling Doom sponge. Very impressive.

Pub 3278, Griffin, Shustoke. New contender for pub of the century. It did mood lit flagstone friendly in the best possible way. My mild was an accidental 6.6% but no one really minded.

Pub 3277 Lord Nelson, Ansley. 32 consecutive GBG years and ignore the rugby lads, you can see why. Accidental 6.8% own brew stuff from Sperrins. Fish tank of dreams. Horatio on form.

Oooh raisiny! Maybe it was that and not a sausage roll causing the crumby applause.

Pub 3276, Church End Brewery Tap, Ridge Lane. Sausage roll crumb false applause. Dorky queuers. Men of certain age can't decide. Patient kind staff. Vaulted soft wood. I missed the 4 exciting strong dark ones. Top hole.

Pub 3275, Red Lion, Baddesley Ensor. Not sure the smell of Glade plug-ins is in keeping with the old atmosphere, but by gum what a cracker! Full meaty Bass. Carpet not required. Bloke saw heron drop a fish, then a Brum fan expected everyone to know what he's on about.
