How does this rain garden work, then? There's a ~25mm upstand of granite that stops rainwater getting to the planted area on the south side, but water can flow in from the north side. Has this been implemented correctly? Lots and lots of stone in the "soil" too.

Bread pudding ride toย Ripley With Grey overcast skies, & just a few drips & drops of rain, after 2 cancellations, 19 Cyclists split into 2 groups, then via Surbiton, Long Ditton, Hinchley wood, Esher, Fairmile- with group 1 having a visit from the 'P fairy, thus group 2 took the lead-, Cobham, Hatchford, Ockham, to Ripley for lunch at the Jovial Sailor (Barons pubs), now with Blue skies & some Sun, still with group 2 in front, via Send Marsh, Newark- taking advantage of the 'closed Road'-, (Photo, group 1), Pyrford, a brief visit to the Wey navigation, Byfleet village, Brooklands Park (Photo group 2), -somehow Group 1 managed to grab the lead back ๐Ÿ™„-, Weybridge, Walton, Molesey, to Molesey Cricket club for Tea & refreshments at Miss Polly's, East Molesey, Thames Ditton, Portsmouth Rd to finish back in Kingston.

A mostly Cloudy but dry day saw 17 Cyclists split into 2 groups, leave New Malden, via Motspur park, North Cheam, Sutton, Carshalton, Bedddington Park, Waddon, Croydon, Selhurst- joined by 1 more for group 1-, Heavers Meadow, Woodside, Ashburton Field, Shirley, West Wickham, Coney Hall, Keston, to Downe for lunch at the super friendly Queens Head, a detour to see Down House, home of Charles Darwin, for both groups (photo), then splitting again, High Elms, Farnborough (not that one), Orpington, Crofton, Southborough, Norman Park, Bromley, to Beckenham for Tea & refreshments at Kelsey Park Cafe- despite the Main gate being closed-, with a re-jig of the Groups, 1 returning to New Malden, gr 2 for those who might want to head for other destinations, Elmers End, a strategic decision to avoid South Norwood Park which would likely be quite Marshy after recent Rain, so Beckenham Cemetery instead, South Norwood, Heavers Meadow, Thornton heath, Pollards hill, Mitcham, Morden Hall Park, Merton park, Wimbledon Chase, Raynes park, to finish back in New Malden.

LCC awards, 2025 Tuesday 16th December. On a rather Chilly evening who would be mad enough to attend an awards ceremony in central London, it turns out quite a few including a group from KCC rides, to see if our illustrious leader (Me) & Suzanne from the KCC committee would win an award, the answer soon came, yes we have been honoured with the title of 'Joyful Cycling', - for introducing a lot of new people to Cycling in our area especially many youngsters on our Fun Family friendly rides that we started in 2023, at Suzanne's suggestion, which have been a great success.

Christmas special ride toย Hersham Sunday 7th December. A warmer than average December day, but with Rain in the Forecast, not too much of a surprise, many had elected to go straight to the Pub, with 1 no show, 22 Cyclists split into 2 groups, leave via Kingston Bridge, Bushy Park, Hampton, Hanworth, Sunbury, Lower Sunbury, Walton Bridge, Walton on Thames, to Hersham for our pre ordered lunch at the Royal George (Morgan Collective), ( a new venue for us), - joined by the 1 no show from the start, after my speech about Highs a number of new rides & lows, the loss of our really good friend Bai, also the shared support riders this year, Andrea C & Celia both took up the mantle, left from Bai, helping to lead a group when needed, Steve D then replied with thanks to me for leading so many rides, then announcing that to cel;ebrate my 25 years leading an estimated 1000 plus rides, a collection had been organised, then l recieved a bulging envelope & a card signed by many, many faces, thank-you all - a heavy shower fortuitously occuring during lunch-, but no appetite for a Tea stop, a bit more Hersham, Esher, Weston Green, Giggshill green, Portsmouth Rd, to finish back in Kingston.

'Tis the season where we struggle to get Kingston Council to sweep up leaves on pavements and cycle leaves ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ‚. When we reported these leaves in the cycle lane the case was closed with the comment "Unable to remove or clear" ๐Ÿ™„
