That was one of the first CDs I ever bought. That and Nirvana Unplugged. I played them to death. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't give up streaming and how you can access nearly all music within a couple of clicks, but I will never know (or obsess over) a piece of music like that ever again.
Huh. Me too. There were a couple of decent songs off Up and Reveal, but at their peak it was all killer, no filler. Green, Out of Time, AftP, Monster is an insane run.
Always loved this kind of immersive music choice interface in arcade racers. <3 Lotus III: The Ultimate Challenge remains my favourite one.

Yes, there are quite a few levels that are really tricky, but if you can arrange you and your partner to wipe the baddies out before they overwhelm you, they become quite trivial. 👾 🫧

Confession time: I once played IK+ with a SMS pad on an Amiga at a retro event. That was quite the experience! As you said, needs must!
X-Out. What a moment of celebration it was! And what a game. They even remade it recently for Windows (as X-Out: Resurfaced).
(also, that's one strike for using a Master System pad on an ST 😉)
Me and my best mate spent many, many hours perfecting our strategies for each level: finding out the best places for each of us to stand and face before the stage begins was half the battle. I can't imagine completing it solo!
Post the first game you actually completed.
Not only was Bubble Bobble on the Atari ST the first game I completed, it was the first game I completed twice, back to back, in one sitting. What a game.
Sometimes I get a bit bored of working on the game itself, and find myself going off on a bit of a tangent to add some demoscene-style magic into the mix. 😄
