We never get serious job offers from UK editors. I physically exist in the UK and have met editors here and we never get a serious job offer from them. most of my UK gigs have come from honestly a one off chance (usually championed by women/ queer ppl) or from a fellow POC giving me a job like 🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽

* i should note it’s because I have like no physical presence in the states and it’s entirely bc of the work I make resonating w/ americans. It’s bc my agent met me online bc she liked my work, american readers buying my books, american editors consistently seeking me for jobs.

my entire publishing career only exists b/c of amrika (sad) because the UK’s creative industries are so fucking busted (and racist) I wouldn’t be able to make it if I only worked in my local economy 🤷🏽

so its very notable when I get fucking awards in america or any american thing happens to me because it highlights how 1) no one in this country gives a fuck about brown peoples creative output 2) there isn’t funding for people who DO give a fuck to then support the arts of marginalised peoples

i was gonna be really salty but the british library literally suffered a cyber attack and like many other arts and cultures institutes in the UK is likely underfunded :,)

And like there are many british comics people who hype me up but it is truly like. I have been doing this my entire adult life…

the american library of congress has asked me via email 3 times now to archive the buuza segment of my website for ??? Purposes because it’s ?? Notable?? but that’s more attention than any british institute has made of my work

And also do one pot chicken /rice dishes and other savoury pies 🥲
The enamel casserole dish I do have is a little too deep and ill suited for these purposes u_u

i will never be rich enough to justify buying cookware that expensive but its little moulded petal lid and pastel colourways haunt my dreams

It is an enamelled cast iron shallow pan. The colour is a pastel peachy pink, which becomes lighter near the center of the pot lid where a circular gold handle protrudes. The pot lid is moulded to resember fluffy broad flower petals that radiate from the center, making the entire pot look like a flower on the countertop. Rich people shouldn’t be the only ones who can have such luxuries….

This le creuset pan being £300 is my roman empire (especially when you can get just as good pans from the dept store for less than third of the price)

If there was any issues, I’d be covered for replacement or maintenance I guess? And honestly I use an eco tank printer so unless canon puts some magnetised micro metals in their ink to detect differences I doubt it would cause any issues :,)
