It’s during water breaks, but the ability to watch football/soccer without the constant nattering of ads is…nice. Of course, in the US they‘ll also ruin the coverage by having sub-par US play-by-play types who make insipid comments and bring up the USMNT constantly, even when not apt.
Literally the one aspect (mostly continuous action with a predictable half-time break) that could help sell this sport to people in the US, and they’re ruining it.
Luis Suarez may like this guy for all I know, but his facial expressions here are interesting, especially after the reference to Venezuela (he is Uruguayan, but the reference seems gratuitous for this event with folks of various Latin American nationalities present).
Keep an eye on this issue in other parts of the country, too. Many jurisdictions are facing a public defender crisis that is slowing case processing (meaning people may be jailed or on pretrial supervision longer) or leaving people unrepresented & vulnerable.

A Columbia undergraduate student was kidnapped from her campus apartment (a block from where I live) at 6:30 am by DHS officers who LIED to campus safety officers, claiming they were NYPD searching for a missing person.

When my adult trans kid was planning a move, several family members suggested cities closer to home with the argument that although X state is red, X city is blue. And kiddo was like, "Nope, I need the full power of the state behind me." And this is why.
I had a smart former student stop by my class yesterday to get my help in calming down, not for this issue in particular, but all of it. He was very freaked out: Iran, Epstein, were all the conspiracy theories true, etc. It’s a bad time to be sensitive and caring.

There’s university accreditation, and then there are programs that receive additional external accreditation (social work, nursing, etc.). How will accreditation bodies handle this?
We won’t get this in the tech-obsessed US, but this should be against the law. It’s fraud to get a degree this way.
