french laundry exterior
I just found a 2024 charge for $1,348.03 to French Laundry - the 3 Michelin star restaurant in California - in Arizona ESA reimbursements.
At least his acting was honest work.
On a related note everyone in NYS should be contacting Governor Hochul and insisting that she opt out of this backdoor voucher scheme that gives rich people a tax write-off at the same time Head Start, Title I, IDEA, school meals, and more are threatened. Hell no nypost.com/2026/02/16/u...
You can't buy a rotisserie chicken for humans with SNAP $, but you can buy rotisserie chicken-flavored cat and dog toothpaste (last line) with Arizona ESA $.
Fitting that the paragraph starts with “eugenics” and ends with a quote from the co-founder of PLACE NYC.
kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them
If “the urgency of normal” is a child development principle, it should apply universally. I’d welcome links if I missed it, but I haven’t seen David Leonhardt, Lucy McBride, TracyBeth Hoeg, Vinay Prasad, David Zweig, or Emily Oster say anything abt kids being denied their right to a public education
Ok friends, I need your help! I got tons of messages asking for the link so here it is!
I finally get to run a race with matching funds too! In district donors get a 12-1 match for the first $5-$50 and there is matching dollars for up to the first $250!

@yuhline.bsky.social is the State Senator we need for Lower Manhattan. Proud to contribute to this campaign! secure.actblue.com/donate/yuh-l...
Yuh-Line Niou makes an announcement to run for state senate. The announcement reads: We need bold, aggressive, truly progressive leadership right now. Leadership strong enough to fight Trump and Bring the Democratic Party back to what it’s supposed to be: standing with Immigrants, people of color, workers, and everyone getting crushed by this economy. Democrats can’t keep compromising in the face of government sponsored violence and creeping totalitarianism. Not anymore. This is our time to fight.
I am running for State Senate.

I am also so grateful for the help you gave me in defining my project for Templeton, and, what help you have offered to give in bringing them around. I have, since Templeton turned me down, gotten funding to produce video on two of the poems l'd proposed to Templeton and to create, and test, that video in schools as / proposed. One of my partners in that project is Success Academy, where I could also expand my work with Templeton. And there are still other poems that may satisfy their character criteria more fully, including the third of the poems I'd originally proposed and that Joe Biden had agreed to discuss with me (on parenthood and humility). At this point, I'm gaining the platform and the name recognition to be an effective spokesperson for the foundation on building literacy and character in the schools. It really means a lot to me, all financial help aside, Jeffrey, that you are rooting for me and thinking about me. You push back a lot (as Larry does), and it's always annoying but I always learn. With abundant gratitude, Lisa -- Elisa New Powell M. Cabot Professor of American Literature Harvard University
Always a local education angle:
Epstein provided direct financial and networking support to Elisa New, Larry Summers’s wife, that allowed her nonprofit to partner with Success Academy to create classroom educational materials and videos

Always a local education angle:
A Stuyvesant-educated cognitive scientist and the former lead academic official at Trump University (lol) was asked by KIPP NYC to develop a summer course, and he propositioned Epstein for the funding for it in this ludicrously racist exchage
Tweet from Yiatin Chu ... @ycinnewyork Maybe people are tired of the language police. It was common to call close friends and family "retarded" in the 80s. I don't think it was ever used to hurt people with disabilities. Link to nytimes article: The 'R-Word' Returns, Dismayi...
Yiatin Chu - a prominent member of PLACE - posted this and affirmed when questioned that she didn’t see anything wrong it. This is what PLACE supports. Let’s get this awfulness out of our schools and city.
Told you
Watch for this “some families” bullshit! Is the NYT gonna mention that the _some families_ are members of PLACE, the extremist group that has zero Black parents on its board, but somehow has room for NYPD cops with a history of abuse complaints? The anti-trans zealot parents? *Those* families?
This is something else. Lots of respect for @60minutes.bsky.social reporter Sharyn Alfonso for defending the integrity of her work.
What a disgrace for 60
Minutes. The Trump effect destroys every institution it touches.

For years now, moderates have decried the division of identity politics of Democrats, ignoring of course that the Republican Party was defined by identity politics itself — the identity of whiteness. Now that it’s explicit the inability to call it out and to cover it aptly is starkly disappointing.
Is there a link for this or was it in an email?
Thank you for all you’ve done for us! Looking forward to supporting you in whatever comes next.
CBS/Paramount brings you Bari Weiss/Erika Kirk “town hall” and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bout. No news. All spectacle.
@cbsnews.com is advertising an Erika Kirk town hall moderated by Bari Weiss under the tagline: “Can she unite America?” I want us to think about all the whys here and their implications.
Correcting page proofs now. On shelves May/June 2026…
One hundred and fifty one children under the age of 18 have been arrested between January and October, with a steep increase beginning in May.
New w/ @alexzimmerman.bsky.social: NYC declared victory on a major class size deadline: >60% of classes under the caps. What they didn’t mention: they only got there by quietly declaring 10,500 classes exempt. W/o those, DOE would’ve been at 59.5% compliance: www.chalkbeat.org/newyork/2025...

When someone with Andrew Cuomo’s platform uses their power to feed hate and spread suspicion instead of solidarity, it puts lives at risk. The strength of this city has always come from people standing together and refusing to let hate divide us – and we’re calling this what it is, Islamophobia.
In the country's richest city, more than 140,000 kids don't have stable or permanent housing.
"Every Child and Family Is Known" — a small pilot program that pairs school staff with students and families in shelters — has shown real promise. I will double its funding and scope.

Instead he dishes up word salads and excuses that make me want to choke, they are so dripping with hypocrisy. He also lies ( yes LIES) to the Muslim community Imams by hiding the fact he strongly supports using taxpayer money to provide medicine and surgery for people who want to change genders ( including..." So, some thrice failed wannabe local politician here in NYC is disingenuously weaponizing the LGBTQ+ community against the mayoral candidate with the best policy positions for our community. I want to take a moment to get some words out ahead of this in case anyone takes her seriously.
I just want to point out again that last night Cuomo effectively said that any NYC family that can do so should move to the suburbs for the schools like he did, I think that might be slightly more important and relevant than his neither innovative nor particularly comprehensive education platform
