The books and other materials have lots of other info. I did a pretty deep dive specifically into Trill for a character a few years ago.
Trill being secretive about everything, it's an even bigger lie than "oh only a small percent can bond".
Trill symbionts continue to grow in size, so while they "can" live for centuries, they eventually grow too big for a humanoid body. A few larger host bodies were attempted here and there but it did NOT go well. They eventually grow into BIG slug-whales and can live a super long time, but thanks to
Academy is good Trek. It's setting up more potential stories going forward in a universe where we've already been told pretty much everything. The only thing I don't like about it is the disregard for established Trill biology, and the "Space Dawson's Creek" do-me eyes getting tossed around wantonly

I was so excited for ZA and it burned out quickly. Such a pointless grind to skip the whole alphabet and then force 1000 battles anyway. Could have easily expanded on many parts and it's a frustratingly small map and variety for a franchise this old. 4/10, probably won't 100%.
The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger is it lacks many of my favorites, but I've been watching several streams and I could otherwise definitely sink 100's of hours into it. Legends ZA however, got put down without 100%-ing it. I just can't. I doubt I'll finish it and just transfer to Home.
