My hospital plays classical music on hold. Given that every time Iβve ever called Iβve been so completely stressed out and/or in tears, just hearing it now - even when I thought I was fine - is putting me on edge. Yeah, Iβve been Clockwork Orangeβd.

βWithout hunger and thirst among the Gazan population, we will not succeed in recruiting collaborators, we will not succeed in recruiting intelligence, [or]... in bribing people with food, drink, medicine, in order to obtain intelligence.β

39 years ago, the Yes, Prime Minster episode 'A Victory for Democracy' was aired. Nothing changes.
James Hacker: Humphrey, I'm worried.
Sir Humphrey Appleby: Oh, what about, Prime Minister?
James Hacker: About the Americans.
Sir Humphrey Appleby: Oh yes, well, we're all worried about the Americans.
Apparently we're due for another heatwave next week... Welcome to the UK! The only country were the seasons feel passive aggressive.
Had the most amazing time on the Endometriosis UK stand! Met some incredible people, made new friends, and spread awareness for a condition which affects 1 in 10 people with a utreus. Happy Pride! #pride @endometriosisuk.bsky.social
I'm on the Endometriosis UK stand this Pride! Come say hi if you're here! @endometriosisuk.bsky.social #london #pride
Also, please allow me to present the clay monastery I created during the workshop, now lovingly known as Platycup. I love my Platycup ππ€£
Amazing evening! Favour Jonathan is an incredible artist and speaker. I met lovely people, learned loads, and felt so empowered stepping out of my comfort zone to create something new.

Ah yes the asexual bird.
Charlie the dog with a Futurama brain slug on her head
I say this with all affection to Charlie, but that poor brain slug is starving
So excited for this talk and workshop with Favour Jonathan!

Favourite talk of the day, "The World Needs Your Novel" with Amie McNee & James Winestock! #LFOW25
Standout wisdom - from Aime is to believe "I'm worth being witnessed for what I create."
And from James, "Reject me, don't reject me, I'm still going to be writing my books."

J.K. Rowling said asexual people donβt face discrimination. She couldnβt be more wrong.
My article for @lgbtqnation.com is out now! I discuss all the various ways that asexual people face discrimination and violence, like corrective rape and conversion therapy.

Amazon just cancelled my pre-order of the signed 'Everything Is Tuberculosis'. Iβve been waiting since November. π

Hey if any of you are friends with March can you tell them Iβm flattered but Iβm just not looking to get involved with another month right now
I'm so proud to share my first asexuality research paper with @kingscollegelondon.bsky.social as their Visiting Fellow! We investigate public attitudes towards asexual people, unearthing some concerning (and some hopeful) findings! ππ€

My friend Garrett once absolutely skewered a guy for saying something sexist, and when someone else tried to defend him by saying 'he's just saying it to get a reaction' Garrett followed with 'well this is the reaction, is anyone enjoying it?'
The sexist was silent the rest of the night.
Just got sent this article written by John Scalzi - another author I admire (read Redshirts - it's amazing). But he's right.
Funny, I've spent 15 years in television production. I've met actors, artists, celebrities, sportsmen... did not care a jot. But authors have always been different for me.
To think this was only a month ago. Now I'm seriously considering throwing the book out rather than have it be on my bookshelves.
I believe the Vulture article about Gaiman. Throughout my life, I've revered the authors who create incredible new worlds & characters to love. And now...Iβve heard βseparate the creator from their creationβ so often I could spit. No one explains how to deal with the unaccountable sense of betrayal.
Talk about being late to the party, but I finally watched Cocaine Bear today and, you know what? Masterpiece. Movie of our era. π
I need to listen to this - Grady Hendrix also wrote 'The Final Girl Support Group' which is one of my all time favourite horror novels ever!
