I am no man ⚔️
Love learning that when JRRT was in signals during WWI he would communicate to Edith in Morse code even tho he was breaking wartime censorship rules. He was indeed Down Bad.

In 1942, the American President opposed censorship because books were weapons in the fight against tyranny.

I swear I still have Tolkien-related thoughts but they get drowned out by thoughts about my baby 😆
I plan on going! @be1mont.bsky.social and @silmarilleanne.bsky.social and @kaiakayy.bsky.social and @knewbettadobetta.bsky.social should be there, too!
lol this happened to me, too
The Hobbit taught us that Dragons who hoard gold at the expense of the well being of others will have their undoing by even the smallest person. We're meant for more in this world, for good food, cheer, and a comfortable life.
It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule. #Tolkien
I GET IT
I am going to try it…but I keep putting it off lol
Do we get completely different members of the Fellowship? Do we get a Fellowship at all? The only thing I’m pretty sure about, although Frodo didn’t seem to have a good reason to wait to leave the Shire, I still think he left exactly when he should have.
Idk why but this made me wonder what it would have been like if 1) Frodo left for Rivendell much earlier and 2) if Gandalf had gone with him. Like, we probably avoid being chased by Nazgul but then does Saruman get an invite to Rivendell, since he probably wouldn’t have revealed himself yet?
So relatable

Late to the party but trying to find all my fandom besties before they disappear off other platforms!
And if you’re just now finding us, we’re friends who talk about Tolkien and adaptations of his works + occasional other shenanigans. Hi! 👋
