A Common Frog (Rana temporaria) sitting on a log. There's some dead reed floating in the water in front of the log, and some dead reed behind the log to the left. In the bottom right corner, there's some light green pond weed. The frog's partial reflection is visible bottom centre.

What an amazing colour that bird is!

Two medium sized all white birds are standing in gloopy mud. The bird on the left is looking slightly down and in the direction of the camera. It has a small plume sticking out behind its head. The bird on the right has a yellow beak and is looking left.

On the left a medium sized all white bird with a long dark beak and plumes of feathers on its head and chest is looking right. Nearer the camera a small gull with a dark spot behind the eye, a black tail and brownish feathers on its wings is looking left. They're both standing in thick mud. At the top of the photo the remains of rice stubble.

A mostly white bird with buff coloured head, black tail, and black webbed feet is standing on a narrow rocky outcrop. It's facing left, though its head is turned towards the camera. In its long pale blue beak is a small piece of green vegetation. In the background there are other blurred Gannets.

Wow! What an amazing photo!

A medium sized bird with light buff coloured body, black head with a bluish beak, blue wings and long blue tail with a touch of grey on its shoulder. It's sitting on a thin dead branch facing the right, but looking slightly down and towards the camera.

To his left a figure in white has his hands outstretched, while to his right four armed men with chain mail helmets and shields have their swords raised. The centre window is surrounded by heavily carved stone and portions of adjacent windows are visible.

A group of six large grey birds with long necks are pictured in a field of stubble. In the foreground a small green bund runs from left to right. In the background some low hedges, with a couple of larger trees to the right. It's very misty so things further in the distance are very indistinct.

For today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #FourOrMore, here's a group of Common Cranes (Grus grus), overwintering in #Extremadura, SW Spain. Normally this area host well over 100,000 birds, but numbers were down to 84,777 this year because of Avian Flu.

Three pairs of mating frogs are sitting amongst a mass of frogspawn. They're surrounded by green aquatic plants and a few brown dead stems.

They happily co-exist in my garden pond. I wouldn't worry about it (though the bad news is probably the other way around. Newts happily eat frogspawn.)
